Publisher's Summary

When the cards are stacked against you, the Kings will even the odds.

For Ward “King” Kingston the role of protector, forged by fire and tragedy, is one he takes seriously. When King is asked to safeguard the son of a four-star general and friend, he is pulled back into the world of government black ops on a mission that raises painful memories from his past. The moment King meets Leo, amid the chaos of a lockdown at a secret black site, it’s clear he’s never faced a challenge like this - one that will test his unwavering sense of control.

Leopold de Loughrey is a misunderstood genius whose anxiety and insecurities are sent into overdrive when he is forcefully recruited to work on a top-secret project. Terrified of what his role as "invaluable asset" means, Leo’s stress leads to disappearances, arguments, and blowups that threaten the project and Leo’s future. King’s arrival is a calm in the storm for Leo and his frenetic thoughts.

King and Leo couldn’t be more different, yet as they navigate the dangers of a secret multi-agency operation and face unknown threats, their differences could be what saves them. Neither man believes a happily ever after is in the cards, but their hearts might just prove them wrong...if they can survive a deadly betrayal.

Perfect wrap up to this story ARC

OMG this was sooooooooo good. I've loved King since day one & couldn't wait for his book. Leo was absolutely perfect for King. Leo is a genus but he is not a people person. King has a favored called in by Leo’s dad asking King to protect his son. As soon as King sees Leo, he falls for him lock stock and barrel, but he isn’t going to give in because he feels that he is too old for Leo. The sexual tension crackles off the pages and once they give in, they totally burn it up. I can't wait to see where the spin-off takes us. As always, Greg Boudreaux knocked it out of the ball park!!

My favorite of the 4 Kings

This is the best one in the series. King ended up being one of my favorites after this book; so different from previous books. Also, how can you not fall in love with Leo. Fast paced and low to mid angst.

A perfect conclusion to the series.

I loved everything about this book. Red finally finding his HEA with an unexpectedly perfect partner made for a superb conclusion. There’s plenty of action and twists along the way to keep the reader riveted, as is usual with a Charlie Cochet action novel.
Greg Boudreaux really is a master at voice acting. His accents and characterisations were utterly flawless. Under either of his pseudonyms Greg is one of the best in the world of narration.

What a brilliant cherry on top

I’ve bunged the entire 4 kings series now. I’ve loved them all for different reasons and this one was no different. Very sweet, great action, good plot, and a great cast of chuckleheads. Thanks for the memories Charlie.

King's story is superb, wonderful narrator!

Ahhhhhhh FINALLY King's story! And it was SO SO good!

King is the leader of his brothers in arms, one of the co-owners of the Four Kings Security team, and he's always been so serious and also begging for a story. And Leo - bright, shiny, happy, rambling, fish-shaped-snack-loving, adorable Leo was just PERFECT for him. Seriously, there couldn't be someone more perfect to make King laugh and smile again, and to bring peace and safety for Leo.

I loved how King and Leo got some time together alone at the beginning while King was protecting him in the secure area, but I absolutely loved it when they moved Leo to his home and King had the rest of his team come assist in protection. Most of all, I just loved how Ace, Lucky, Red, Joker, and Jack were so happy that their friend and leader was finding happiness. I LOVE how great friends and family they all are together, especially Ace for all of his antics and hilarious moments, he truly loves his friend.

I can't wait for the next series around these guys - seriously can't wait for Jack and Joker's stories, and then King's assistant and Ryden, too! And Gio!

Greg Tremblay/Boudreaux did a great job narrating this story, as he has with the previous books in the series. I truly hope that he'll continue to be the narrator for the spin-off series, as I can't picture these guys with any other voices than his. Ace and Lucky especially, since I'm sure we will still see plenty of them in the spin-off series.

I HIGHLY recommend this series if you love strong men falling for other men, some action, suspense and drama, and just sexy and sweet love stories.

Laughs, love, family, and patriotism. Charlie Cochet hits all the buttons in the 4th installment of the four kings security series. This one will go one my list to relisten too.

Greg Boudreaux could read the phone book and make it enthralling. Give him a grand adventure written by Charlie Cochet and you’ve got audio heaven.
