Publisher's Summary

Noel Ice Cavanaugh's method is foolproof: get in, do the job, get out, melt away without a trace. Neat. Tidy. No mistakes.

This time, though, something isn't right. Two somethings. First, a random attack that feels not-so-random. Then he discovers a baby on his doorstep with a note claiming it's his. Unfortunately, the sexy neighbor who found the boy first has too many questions in her eyes to ignore.

When her handsome, mysterious neighbor suddenly asks her out on a date, Adeline Rose has suspicions he's fishing for help with his bundle of...joy? By the date's end, she's convinced Noel's just as distant as he seems - until a scorching goodnight kiss burns away all thoughts of being careful.

Now, Noel has more than one problem on his hands: splitting baby duty between three badass assassins, figuring out how to fit in more time with Addy...and keeping both of them safe from the danger that's followed him home.

Warning: Beware a killer with a heart of gold, a baby who needs constant changing, and unrequited love that's actually quite...requited.

GOOD.. BUT TOTALLY NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING

This was a much lighter listen than I was originally expecting and it even had humorous scenes mixed into the plot about Noel (aka Ice) the Government Assassin, Adeline his Teacher neighbor, his two Assassin friends and drama as the plot to kill the three of them slowly unfurled. And, as Ice dodged bullets, leaped out of the way of speeding cars and fiercely protected his woman, Noel couldn’t help but fall madly and deeply in love with Addy.

Adeline had lived next to her handsome but cold, quiet, mysterious, withdrawn neighbor for two years.. but, despite secretly stalking him, she knows absolutely nothing about Noel.. except that he’d stay to tend to his garden and then disappear for weeks or months without a word. However, that all changed the day a baby boy was left outside Noel’s door.. then she saw a sweet side to him as his icy walls melted for her, as the passion and sex grew in intensity, as villains threatened everything, as secrets got exposed.. and as the body count rose and rose. But who out of the three of them was the baby’s Daddy, who and why was he left there, who put a target on their backs and what other secrets would be revealed along the way???

Worth a credit? I love suspenseful dark Assassin stories and I love Jason Clarke so this was a no brainer purchase.. but, at 5 hrs 19 mins, the tbc fairly light dual POV story was just a little too short (and the next book is even shorter). Loveable, huggable cocoa and marshmallow drinking burnt out Hit Men with hearts of gold and a sweet soft side - and the women who make them melt. So yes I enjoyed the characters and the story.. but sorry Ms Harte, no I won’t be carrying on with the Triggerman Inc. series because the next 4 hr 43 mins book (IMO) is surely not worth $24.49 or even a credit and I’m just not intrigued or interested enough. Instead I’ll wait until it becomes available on the Audible Escape package like most of this author’s previous books.

ICE is the man

I've had this book in my library for a while. The story idea intrigued me but I really didn't want to do the mystery whodonit book but this surprised me. Marie Harte is a new author for me and if this is any indication of how her books are then I'll be adding her to my list of authors to read. Even though her men are Alphas they aren't the overbearing, dark Alphas and the women are strong, not-bitchy unless they need to be but also not weak or stupid. There are no damsels that can't figure out how to stand up to the bad guys and run through the woods without their heels. You know they type that constantly get kidnapped because of their own stupidity.

This book was entertaining, sexy and fun. Narrated by the new go-to-voice of Jason Clarke who does a darn good female voice without sounding like a teenager, weird or just wrong. Onto the next in the series Secrets Unsealed and hopefully more answers about Angel, the baby and who is leading the danger against our group of friends and lovers. Romantic suspense is definitely my thing.

Awesome series!

So thankful for the Escape package so I have the chance to hear great books! Especially series so I can listen one right after the other. I plan on listening to this series again. I love the narrator and each story was awesome! It had me second guessing myself all the way until the last book. I wish there were more books in the series!

Wild Ride!

This is a fast story and definitely entertaining. I gave it 4 stars as I liked the main characters and low drama. The h goes through a range of emotions which is understandable as she develops a strong relationship with the H.

Strong Sexual Content and it appears that Marie is quite adventurous and likes the back door.

suspense

I thought this would be ok, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had no idea where the twists and turns were going to lead. the romance part was good but the suspense was great. could have done with less sex scenes but that's just me. I skip most of those anyway. Mr Clarke is simply wonderful. now, to buy the next one in the series.
