A short enjoyable treat.

While the story is too short to have a well developed plot it will probably reach its full potential if it is expanded in future Books.

The Narrator does a wonderful job with the material and made the Book a much easier listen.

Most individuals who enjoy this genre will appreciate this Book and the future efforts of this Author.

A magical paranormal adventure romance<br />

When Kate accidentally poisons everyone with a chocolate cake her world gets turned upside down. Kate's afterlife adventure through the perils of Hades and Mount Olympus was enjoyable. This is a short listen, but with the constant flow of new things happening it really held my interest. The narration is well done. The change of characters is distinguishable and nicely done as well. I do recommend this short evenly paced listen. I was given this free audio book at my request and have voluntarily decided to leave this review.

Death by Chocolate

An interesting start to a new series. I’m a fan of Greek mythology and I was intrigued by the way the main character, Kate, was drawn into this world. There were enough unanswered questions for me to want to continue on to the next book in the series.

I did find this to be a very enjoyable listen. Kate Tyler did a fantastic job with the narration!

If You Enjoy Good Narration, You’ll Find It Here

I voluntarily accepted a promo code and voluntarily agreed to review this book.

This is a somewhat imaginative kind of drug-trippy plot that involves essentially three teenagers—Kate, Jason, and Shana. The book opens rather imaginatively. 17-year-old Kate glances in a mirror and determines that she has multiple heads attached to her. That can be rather disconcerting at best, and Kate manages to soldier on through her day at school, planning a fundraiser for later that day.

It is during the fundraiser, when guests are eating a super-chocolaty cake Kate and her friend have made that things begin to fall apart in big ways.

Kate Tyler’s narration saved this book for me. She does nice voice differentials so you can always know who’s speaking. Her inflections and cadences are wonderful, and her diction is always top flight and a pleasure to listen to.

That said, there was a place or two where the narrator sounded a bit like she was in a barrel or a small container. It wasn’t consistent through the entire book; just in a place or two for a few sentences here and there.

As for the book, it pretty much left me uninterested in reading additional installments of the series. I saw at least one really glaring grammatical error that jumped out at me and suggested that this hadn’t been subjected to a good professional edit. Granted, this is essentially a long short story or a novelette or whatever you want to classify it as. So the author didn’t have a lot of room and time to develop her characters in ways you would like. But that aside, it would have enhanced my reading pleasure to know a bit more about the main character.

The up side is that this is a nice clean young-adult title you can pass on to anyone without fear of offense. There’s a little kiss-and-cuddle action, but that’s all there is. The book is refreshingly profanity free. Under those circumstances, you can forgive a grammar error. I just couldn;’t get into Greek gods and goddesses, and if you’re going to read this, an interest in mythology will serve you well.

Very short but lots of fun!

This was a very fun listen. This was recommended to me. At first the narration bothered me, but only because it sounded like she was talking from a box and distorted everything. Otherwise Kate Tyler did a fantastic job narrating this story. This is my first story by Suz Korb.
Its an excellent storyline. I wish the story was longer to give the author more real credit. As it is now it is rather confusing to keep up with it because there is so much crammed into such a short amount of time. I LOVE the idea behind this. It was very unique in a good way. I just wish that it wasn't so short. Other than that I really enjoyed the story line and the Greek spin on everything. Very enjoyable.

A Delightful Tale

This is a delightful story to listen to. It's a YA supernatural story that is quite entertaining. Kate is a typical seventeen year old thrown into a really strange situation. It was fun listening to her reactions to the various situations she found herself in. The narrator, Kate Tyler, did an awesome job bringing this story to life. Her voices were great and she read at a very nice pace. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Great quick read

Death by Chocolate by Suz Korb was a good quick read. This is the first book in the Divine Collection. At the Death by Chocolate event Kate didn't mean to actually poison everyone. Kate finds herself traveling into the afterlife. I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by Suz Korb.

Felt unfinished, but well narrated

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I decided to go for this book because I'm a fan of Kate Tyler. Her narration was great. I had no complaints there. The premise for the story is definitely unique and it was a fun, but short listen. That being said, I wish it was longer, as the story ends a bit too soon, without wrapping enough up to leave me satisfied. As this seems to be a Volume 1, that would lead me to expect that there will be more. Might be good to wait until more are released to prevent feeling let down. That's just my opinion.

Interesting take on classic myths

This is a quick listen that leaves you wishing for more. That was one of my few complaints with this story; I really wanted to know more about what happened as time progressed. The book had an interesting twist on a modern day Greek myth that I really enjoyed (that time in history fascinates me). If you're looking for a quick listen, this one has some twists and turns that I think most people will enjoy!

first of all the performance was good the narrator did a very good work with the story .
and I will not say the story was bad it wasn't .. it actually was very interesting but I had a big issue with it I didn't get the why of the story ..
and thought the story is short I think in this case I would like to understand more.
