Publisher's summary

Winona Farmington once dreamed of graduating from college, moving to New York City, and pursuing a career in publishing. Then real life got in the way when she left college and returned to her small Michigan hometown to care for her sick mother.

Years later, stuck in a dead-end job and an unsatisfying relationship, Winnie has concluded that dreams were meant for others. She consoles herself with binge-watching the British television series that she loves, Beauchamp Hall, enthralled by the sumptuous period drama set on a great Norfolk estate in the 1920s. The rich upstairs-downstairs world brilliantly brought to life by superb actors is the ultimate in escapism.

On the day Winnie is passed over for a long-overdue promotion, she is also betrayed by her boyfriend and her best friend. Heartbroken, she makes the first impulsive decision of her conventional life, which changes everything.

She packs her bags and flies to England to see the town where Beauchamp Hall is filmed. The quaint B & B where she stays feels like home. The brother and sister who live in the castle where the show is filmed, rich in titles but poor in cash, are more like long-lost friends than British nobility. And the show itself, with its colorful company and behind-the-scenes affairs, is a drama all its own. Winnie’s world comes alive on the set of the show.

What happens next is the stuff of dreams, as Winnie takes the boldest leap of all. Beauchamp Hall reminds us to follow our dreams.... You never know what magic will happen!

Almost ready to say it's one of the authors best!

Almost ready to say this is the authors best if it were not for the graphic references to pornography for the scum that the main character called her partner in the beginning of the story. Once the story moved on from this mess it was delightful and very entertaining.
Winnie was such a great character and I loved how she took such a leap of faith. It's hard to speak more about it without being a spoiler.
If you are interested in anyway in the royal family way of life this is a great story.

The narration was okay for the male gender parts but not my favorite for the females.
Otherwise - grab it and enjoy.

Ended abruptly

Story was wonderful until the end - it seemed very rushed and as if she had to wrap it up quickly and tie up loose ends. The ending was not as detailed and descriptive as the rest of the story therefore was disappointing. Loved the storyline but the way it was “rushed” in the telling at the end just didn’t make sense compared to the beginning. Was surprised when it ended so quickly

Plodding

This is a terrible book. Whatever happened to the idea of "show, don't tell??" The narrator just tells and tells and tells. Don't waste your time or money.

Juvenile

Reminds me of why I stopped reading Danielle Steele. Awful writing, awful narration. Waste of a credit.

Needs a different reader

Was a great story, but would have been better with a female narrator, since it was a female perspective. The narrator slurred to much and the British accents were painfully bad.

Downtown Abbey Knockoff

This was my first Danielle Steele book. A bit disappointed it was a knock off of the Downtown Abbey story.

Poor narration

It really bugged me that the narrator kept pronouncing the estate as "Beecham" instead of "Bowshawmp." Most Brits would be fluent in French, so they wouldn't butcher the pronunciation so much. Also, I don't understand why they chose a male narrator for a female for this story with a female main character. Ideally, if this could be redone, I would want a female narrator who can perform more convincing American and British accents.

Waste Of Time!

This is one of the worst books I’ve ever read by DS! Fast forwarded to end, and had to skip over most of that.
