Publisher's summary

He's a danger on and off the track.

Danger Hudson has made a career out of doing things the hard way. The tabloids have nicknamed him the "Bad Boy of Racing", and he proves them right at every turn.

Wild parties.

Fast women.

And even faster cars.

Until the team owner finally slams the brakes and hatches an absurd plan to calm the press - pretend to be engaged to Monterey Grander, the drop-dead gorgeous daughter of the team's owner.

She's pretentious.

She's high-class.

And she's entirely too good for him.

But why can't Danger stop imagining a life with her?

When the past crashes into the present, will Danger be able to get everything he's been searching for? Or will the truth he's trying so desperately to hide come out and ruin them both.

Very enjoyable!

An wonderful story filled with a lot of Danger. Haha! Play on words there..actually suspense and secrets. I enjoyed the way this tale was weaved. I was so into the two MC’s. Playing, working and coming together. I enjoy the Driven series and spin offs

This is my first or second book by Jacob Chance. It is well written and enjoyable plus the characters were brought to life. I did lisent on audio. The female narrator is a little nasally and sound condescending which can be difficult to listen to. I however think she does a great job enunciating words and speaking clearly. The male narrator…I could listen to him all day. Such a pleasant voice!

Danger Hudson started out as a street racer to a professional driver..He's the bad boy of racing,, Fights, alcohol, drugs, and women. .
Then along comes Monterey Grander,, daughter of th teams owner.
Shes intelligent, beautiful, strong and vulnerable.
He goes along with the plan to be in a fake relationship with his daughter to clean up his image.
I love how Logan chance slowly developed their relationship throughout the story.
Danger is hiding his childhood from everyone. If it's found out, he feels that could ruin him forever.
The story shows his vulnerability, he doesn't know how to handle the emotions that he is feeling towards Monterey.
Monterey is falling for Danger but she feels he is holding back and doesn't want to share his past.
I enjoyed listening to this story narrated by Lacy Laurel and Alexander Neal. they brought the intensity and emotions in this story.

The Driven World!

Danger (The Driven World) is a fake relationship trope with a sports romance subtrope . A race car driver its a mysterious past brings a intriguing curveball to the story. The writing style consisted of angst, drama, and unexpected twists weaved together. The ending is the champagne toast.

Lacy Laurel, Alexander Neal dual narration set the mood for the romance. Bringing the characters emotions to reality and emerge themselves into the characters they are portraying.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Heartfelt!

I enjoyed this book immensely, how it is my first book written by Logan Chance is a mystery to me, but I will certainly check out more of his books soon. He is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, the characters and storylines he created are interesting and original. It is great how easily his characters fit in K. Bromberg’s “Driven” world. Danger Hunter, nicknamed the “Bad Boy of Racing” because of his habit of getting himself in trouble, he likes to live on the wild side, lots of parties and women, he also gets into a lot of fights. His manager thinks he needs someone to not only keep an eye on him but to tame him and improve his image too and he knows how to do it and who can make it happen, his daughter Monterey Grander. Monterey does not care for his idea but knows her father is right, Danger needs to be rebranded in the eyes of the media. She goes with her father’s plan of a fake engagement for the sake of their brand and the fact that she is hoping to take over for her father one day. Danger agrees and promises to keep out of trouble, of course that only lasts so long but Monterey is patient with him and tries to steer him the right way. Both play their parts very well, it is easy for them since the chemistry between them is sizzling. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, some twists and turns to Danger’s mysterious past and who he really is and where he came from, heartfelt emotions and a fantastic fake engagement turned real and hot romance. It was great to see Colton and Rylee make and appearance too. Logan Chance, thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Lacy Laurel and Alexander Neal are talented narrators and voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that fit their character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Lacy Laurel played Monterey’s role with perfection, Alexander Neal did the same for Danger, perfecting the role of a bad boy. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.

Watch out for Danger!

How do you tame the wildly, successful race car driver? Danger's reputation proceeds him, and this is not a good look. To stop the bad press, the owner of the racing team decides to calm Danger down by creating a fake fiancé, using his daughter Monterey. A very capable, smart woman, Monterey wants to take over the team, and now is her chance to prove to her father her worth. But will they be able to pull off their rouse? Fast paced, exciting, passionate, vulnerable, Logan Chance adds this installment to the KB World and it's a perfect fit. Danger is broken, and his past is something that keeps coming back to haunt him. Monterey can see the goodness in him, and the two find it impossible not to react to their mutual attraction. Fake fiancé? We shall see, with Danger's secrets, things may just blow up and all will be naught! I loved these two, and I loved how Chance weaved Colton and Rylee into the story. It's the perfect segue into Danger's story.

Alexander Neal is new to me, and I loved him as Danger. He has a great pace, and his voice is commanding with that confident sound that Danger needs. Lacy Laurel delivers Monterey with self-assurance and compassion. I enjoyed both their narrations and look forward to more stories by them.

SORRY, DNF.. NARRATION

I absolutely loved the Driven series by K Bromberg and this tempted me because it was from KB Worlds.. but sorry I just had to stop the listen. And it’s the fault of all the good and great narrators out there who’ve totally spoiled me over the years because now I’ve become a wee bit picky. But maybe they all read the storyline and opted out as I did by chapter 12.. deciding life’s too damn short to waste it on a listen I really didn’t like. I do try new (to me) narrators so will always give them a try but sadly this was a thumbs down because I didn’t personally like Lacy Laurel’s voice.. or her male voice so sadly there were consequences. I couldn't connect with the characters, I cringed during LL's chapters and even just tried listening to Alexander Neal’s chapters (stars are his) but I was more frustrated and annoyed than deliciously lost in this fake dual POV relationship story.

Worth a credit? Take a guess.. yup, that folks would be a no.. but this is only MY opinion - your tolerance level may be far better than mine.
