I was destined to find them. To face my demons and heal.
** Not a Shifter/Omegaverse **
Zero (Gio)
I can’t seem to get anything right. Failure after failure. I’m really struggling here. I’ve loved Cole for years, hiding away my feelings from him. But taking care of him is more important than my feelings. I can never seem to get it right, and I’m losing a part of myself. But when Cueball takes us in out of the goodness of his heart when we’re at our most desperate, I start discovering myself again. The old me who laughed and enjoyed life. Now, I find myself loving not one man, but two.
Zilch (Cole)
I have a new purpose in life. After ruining our lives, I have a chance to bring happiness back to Gio and me. I’ll always be a bit broken, but I’ve come to accept that. It’s Gio and Cueball who need me the most, my grump and grumpier. They both need healing and love. And I do love them. I can give that to them. I want to give that to them. This is how I heal, too.
Cueball (Marco)
Zero and Zilch are my chaos gremlins. They’ve upended my life and have torn down my walls. For years, I’ve maintained my self-control, keeping my pain neatly tucked away. Now that’s all been shattered, and I have no one to blame but myself. Zero and Zilch, my Double-Z, have broken me down and are building me back up. Perhaps it’s time to face my demons. For the first time in years, I want someone in my life. I want them, but I’m afraid.
This is the fifth and last book in a series, but like all my books, it can be listened to as a standalone.

Cueball has always been the most mysterious of the rejects—quiet, guarded, yet always watching out for everyone else. I couldn’t wait for his story, and wow… it was a gut punch in the best way. My heart absolutely ached for him.
Learning Cueball’s past truly shows Courtney W Dixon's ability to write broken boys in a way that you feel to your core. It is a journey into his past you feel like you are reliving right alongside of him. Thinking his life would go in one direction, only to have it yanked off course by tragedy and grief. Marco experienced the kind of hurt that changes your soul and is all consuming. Cueball did what he needed to do to survive, be he never really was living.
Enter Zero and Zilch—Double Z, the Chaos Brothers, Gio and Cole. They crash into Cueball’s life with all their own struggles, and together they make something raw, messy, and beautiful. Facing homelessness, and surviving a less than ideal childhood they cling to the only thing that they have-each other.
The way Gio supports Cole through literally everything, the way he loves him unconditionally even though he feels like he can't him how in love with him he is, is absolutely touching and heartbreaking at the same time. Gio would do absolutely anything for Cole, and proves it over and over again.
As the relationship between Cole and Gio develops alongside the relationship between Marco and Cole it becomes obvious that the three of them mean something to each other. Courtney does an amazing job developing the MMM dynamic seamlessly. You literally cant see any single relationship progressing without all 3 men.
This line says it all:
"Gio and Cole were two sides of one coin. They were heads and tails. I was the coin. Gio represented my pain and self-hatred. Cole represented my guilt."
And now the star of this audiobook-Harley Chase! Just wow! Not only does he bring the same level of skill and emotion he brought to the other rejects-he manages to do it with 3 different characters simultaneously! His ability to portray the emotions of the characters is just amazing. Absolute home run! Proves once again why he is a master!
This finale was everything I hoped for and more. Saying goodbye to the Rejects feels bittersweet—they’ve been like my own found family—but I can’t wait to see what Courtney does next. If this series proved anything, it’s that she never misses.
I knew Harley Chase would hit this out of the park.

This book is the absolute perfect ending for the Alpha's Rejects series. Cueball has been part of the group since book 1 but always just enough out of reach for us to get to really know him. His story is one of the most emotional journeys I've read in a while and will hit you right in the feels. Watching Cueball find his Double-Z and watching their relationship grow and change was so wonderful. Zero and Zilch have their own heartbreaking stories to tell which will also make your heart break for them. So when they all find each other and begin healing together is just everything.
This book hit so many emotions for me. Not only is it the end of an mazing series but also being able to see Cueball, Zero, and Zilch find happiness was beautiful.
So full of emotion

This one is loaded with big feels and lots of healing. The narrator doe a nice job with the characters and bringing an authentic emotion to Gio, Cole, and Cueball’s romance. It’s no small achievement as Cole and Gio’s background is quite desperate, the stepbrothers are living on the margins and just getting by. They also have epic amounts of pining between them, which was also kind of sad. For me, it was maybe a bit slow moving, but the payoff was certainly worth it.

I absolutely loved this series and Harley continued to do a fantastic job narrating book after book.
This one was no exception.
I read this book before and loved it. It was one of those books I wish I could read for the first time again.
Listening to this audiobook was the closest thing.
Harley did a phenomenal job bringing Cueball, Zilch, and Zero to life. Their personalities shined through. Even their nonverbal mannerisms and actions came to life. It played out like a movie.
The emotions in this book are big. Harley rang out every drop possible. It hurt in the best way.
My heart ached. I was an emotional mess. And I loved every minute of it.
Yes, I’ll be coming back for more.
