Great Read

Craving Love & Death by Haven Cage was a great read. It is a novel in A Perilously Pretty series. This book is set in the 1950s and follows a woman who is unlike many of the there women of the time. Vivienne gives into a hunger that no man can escape alive. That is until Dean. Dean is unlike any other man to Vivienne. I enjoyed this read and can't wait to read more by the author.

Thoroughly enjoyable

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Story was well written, it keeps your attention from the start. The main character has guts. I like that the female character is strong, she may not be the best person to begin with but like how it shows that people can change. Sometimes finding someone to love and that loves you back can make all the difference. Cannot wait to read more from this author!

Murder, pain, lust and love

This book drew me in from the minute I started listening and kept me enthralled until the end. It was dark and dangerous, erotic and deadly, and so absorbing. For me, it was missing a little something towards the end to better explain why she felt so compelled to kill all those men. It didn't quite fit for me. The lead female was fantastic and one of those characters so fascinating you want to listen and learn more about her. The lead male was also a very good character. He brought out another side of the female we weren't seeing. This book kept my interest from start to finish. Steamy and Wonderfully Dark

Oh, where do I begin with this great book??? Maybe let's begin with Vivienne, the throaty, curvaceous lounge singer/waitress whose is hiding a killer past? Or how about the sexy Lt. Dean Vitson whose past is just as dark and dangerous as Vivie? When these two met, sparks fly and the body count grows higher.

Vivie and Dean's love affair is very sensual and wonderfully dark. Though Vivie would like to do nothing but stay away Dean to keep him out of harms way, Dean keeps coming back into her life time and time again. As Vivie's and Dean's love affair heats up, the things from their varied past keep rearing their ugly and dark heads until the final climax!

Haven Cage has written an excellent dark noir novel. I am addicted to her writing style and cannot wait to read more of her works. I would love to see a continuation of Vivienne and Dean's story. Ms. Cage's character development and atory development is some of the best I have read in a while. Though bordering on the dark side of romance, the story hooks you and keeps your interest until the very end. I hated to see it come to the end.

As far as narration, Kinsey Cass and John Burgundy due a spectacular job. They bring a wonderful life to the characters and the story.

I highly recommend this book! I give it 5 steamy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

Dark Female Lead with Trauma and Love

Haven has developed in-depth characters that take in a life of their own in this thriller dark romance. The main heroine has experienced trauma and deals with her strong emotions the only way she knows how. A mafia man hunts her down after the heroine murders some men and there is where the twisted and dark romance is developed. This is a detailed story giving the listener a clear picture of the titillating story with twists and turns aplenty. 5-Stars for those who revel in darker themes of love and trauma.

The best I have ever heard

This audio is the bomb. I have not read the book prior and I am very glad for it. Haven did an amazing job picking both narraters. It kept me wanting more. I loved at how the female and male parts where done separately. You felt like you where there listing too them. Kinsey Cass southern accent was spot on. John Burgundy did not make me cringe during the hot and steamy scenes like some others have done. I love Haven Cage work and this audio topped it.

What a book!!

Catching Love & Death is a different kind of book. It centres itself around a female murderer Vivienne, who despite all the men she’s murdered just wants to be a normal girl.

However, things from her past are starting to catch up with her, and there’s a mysterious sailor, Dean, that’s captured her attention.

Running from her unwanted past and her feelings for Dean, she fights for her life and for the life of her best friend when they are both kidnaped.

Yet again things aren’t always what the seem. Armed with a lifetime of violence and self preservation, Vivie sets out to bring down some of the worlds most dangerous people, starting with her birth father.

I loved the happy ending she finally got with Dean, and she finally put an end to all the corruption those men were trying to bring about.

Exciting and unusual

That's a winning combination for any story. From the first chapter, Craving Love and Death strikes a different note and continues to build an enthralling, twisty tale. The narration by Kinsey Case and John Burgundy is in the duet style and is a success. This is the most challenging audio style, in my opinion, and here, has been done so well. I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in the world of Dean and, more especially, Vivienne, voiced with conviction by Kinsey. Looking forward to more from this team!
