But when a tragic battle blows a hole in the city of Stamford, killing hundreds of people, the US government demands that all superheroes unmask and register their powers. Hey, hey, book lovers, take off those big thick glasses - this is Deadpool speaking! Sorry Marvel, somethin' happened to your copy guy. Anyway, this is my first prose novel, and they got this dude Stefan Petrucha to write it. He's good people. He's written novels and comics. But here's the thing: This book is about dogs. Dogs that turn into big nasty monsters. And then I gotta kill 'em. Thing is, I like killing people - the ones that deserve it, anyway - but I won't kill dogs. So that's what we call a character dilemma.

What drives the Man Without Fear? Matt Murdock was raised by a single father, an over-the-hill prizefighter with one last chance to make good - a chance that cost him his life. Taunted and tormented by other children, Matt's life was irrevocably altered after he was blinded by radioactive materials while saving the life of an old man. The payoff? An unbreakable will and a keen intelligence, helping focus the super-senses with which he was blessed during the accident. His story is one of love, pain, disappointment, and strength.

Publisher's summary
This provocative collection, edited by acclaimed media psychology writer Travis Langley and with a foreword by the legendary Stan Lee, examines the complex psychological and political choices made by Captain America and Iron Man throughout their careers, culminating in Marvel's superhero civil war which spreads far beyond the Avengers themselves.
Why do Steve Rogers and Tony Stark see things so differently? What are their motivations? Is either one truly in the right? Captain America vs. Iron Man: Freedom, Security, Psychology, our latest entry in this popular psychology series, analyzes the polar sides of this debate - individual freedom vs. national security. How does trauma shape these heroic characters? What does it take to become a hero? What roles do empathy, gender, genius, morality, leadership, and teamwork play in starting conflicts and in resolving them?
Fans will find thought-provoking psychological material to contemplate for hours. Do we really have to take sides?

Story
This thought-provoking anthology offers a close examination of the psychology behind the intricate narrative and compelling characters in author George R.R. Martin's best-selling work, A Song of Ice and Fire, and the popular HBO TV series based upon his books, Game of Thrones. In Martin's richly detailed world, deceit, manipulation, and greed rule the day, and almost everyone fights for power over the realm or simply over their own lives. How do love and hate, good and evil, need and greed, altruism and narcissism drive the very best and very worst human behaviors?

Interesting psychology dive into Steve and Tony
I liked this but didn’t love it. Kept thinking I would stop listening but couldn’t bring myself to which ultimately means I enjoyed it. The male orator was a bit lacking but grew on me. So give it a listen if you find psychology and Marvel interesting.

Very Interesting Overall!
As a lover of comic books and psychology, this book allowed both passions to come out and express themselves. Being able to take fictional characters from a comic or a regular book and dissect their morals and values is something that I've always enjoyed. Highly recommend this book!

Good insightful but repetitive
The information is insightful but repetitive and could be told in half the time. Majority of back setting is from the comic book storyline Civil War. There is some information crossing over into the Marvel movies but it seems stuck on the Civil war aspect from the comics.
In short, would I listen to this again No; would I recommend it to anyone No.

I enjoyed it I like the contrast and learned interesting facts about both of their origins, u did have issue with them repeatedly calling Capt human...as opposed to a super soldier.
