slow narration

the only reason I was able to finish this book is because the story is fascinating. I love this author.
the narrator spoke so slowly that I could not follow along. I had to rewind chapters over and over which isn't common for me.
I even sped her up a bit to have it feel more of a normal speed to follow along with. it helped but still her tone is so monotone that I would loose focus again.
I don't want to be mean because she obviously reads well, just not my cuppa tea.
I still don't know the whole story because I just couldn't keep rewinding it. So, I'm missing chunks in between. ha ha

Inconq...what?

A wonderful story about an archeology student finding out just how attuned she is to metal. Fighting her way while learning how to use her gifts. With help from some unlikely sources and some rather interesting foes, will Ibby have what it takes to be called Inconquo?

the storyline is great. I have read most of the elemental series so it is fun to hear them. I usually love their narrators. the stories incorporate so many cultures! the research must be almost overwhelming. the characters are so we'll developed that you feel you know them personally

Another great listen

I have loved all of AL Knorr ‘s book and this one did not disappoint. She introduces us to a metal elemental. Ibby is a very kind hard working person who wants nothing more then to become an archeologist. Her whole life gets derailed when she finds some rings. Little did she know that the rings were not what gave her the ability to manipulate metal only to help focus and strengthen what she was born with. This is an action packed fast paced book that has twists and turns that keeps you listening until it is finished. I loved the accent of the narrator. Can’t wait to listen to the next book.

Ibby’s story

We meet Ibby in the elemental series and she gets her own book here. I have loved all of A L Knorr’s stories but this one just didn’t hold my interest as well as the others. It is still good with lots of adventure. I have listened to one other story with this narrator and although she has a great English accent I just haven’t been as impressed as a couple of Abby’s other narrators. Ibby has to overcome many adversities as everything she once knew changes and shifts as she becomes what she thinks of as a super hero. She gains powers over metals. She can hear each different type of metal and has powers to move it and shape it to her will. But powers come with great responsibilities and in Ibby’s case a whole lot of danger.
