Publisher's Summary

Mira is a mermaid on a mission.

It’s time to leave the ocean. Mira Belshaw has been at sea for...well, she doesn’t know how many years. It’s hard to keep track of time when you live in the ocean. But after enough time, the salt water triggers the desire to procreate, and her time is up.

Finding a mate is the most important thing to her right now, and to do that, she has to return to the place where she was last human - the coastal city of Saltford.

Equipped with everything she needs to lure her perfect mate and produce a strong siren child, all she needs is the opportunity to mingle with humans. But when she meets Nathan, the ONE, things start to go sideways....

The Mira's Return trilogy contains all three titles returning, falling, and surfacing and is a companion series to the elemental origins series, a teen fantasy adventure series by an award-winning author.

If you like Melissa Meyer, Leia Stone, Jaymin Eve, Cassandra Clare, Lauren Kate, Stephenie Meyer, Becca Fitzpatrick, or Michelle Madow, you will love A.L. Knorr’s storytelling.

Mermaid Mira

Mermaid, Mira Belshaw left for the sea at 14 after the death of her mother, when her alcoholic father began getting violent. The problem with mermaids is they aren't good with people and making conversation. Now it's time to come home and find a mate to procreate.

After meeting the only man that has ever loved her, they marry and have a daughter Targa and he passes away leaving Mira looking for an income to support both herself and her daughter.

Gabra Zackman does a fantastic job narrating this trilogy and the life as a single woman

Mira’s stories

This is a collection of three stories of Mira. It starts off with Mira leaving the sea after her first salt cycle looking for a mate. It is a sweet love story and we get to find out Mira’s history. The second book follows Nate and Mira as they start their wedded bliss and conceive of a child. The third story is about Targa’s young life and how Mira starts as a diver. I listened to the elemental series first before this series so it was fun to get the background on Targa’s young life and find out about Nate, Mira’s love. Great story. I’m ready for more.

Absolutely loved this!

The story was very captivating, not only from the writing but also how it was brought to life by its narrator. This duo was a match made in heaven for my ears. I was able to escape my everyday life and escape into the world of the character and book itself. Loved it!!!

Great read, great series

Returning: A Water Novella. After reading Born of Water: An Elemental Origins Novel, I welcomed the chance to read Mira’s story. WOW, another incredible read, perhaps even better than Born of Water.
Falling: Previously titled Returning, Episode II (Mira's Return Book 2). WOW, another incredible read, perhaps even better than Born of Water.
Surfacing: A Water Novel (Returning Book 3), my seventeenth read from author A.L. Knorr. I’ve been given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. Gabra Zachman’s talented narration adds to the well-written book's enjoyment. Extremely well written, the characters, even the minor ones, are well developed with an attention-grabbing storyline. I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make the reader get invested into the characters and thereby the story. I’ll be reading more from this author! Another must-read book! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Fantastic Fantasy Story

This is such a fantastic fantasy story. I couldn't help but become invested in Mira's journey early on. I love how the author puts a mermaid into modern day human situations. The narrator was excellent in bringing the characters and story to life. I look forward to more from this author

Brilliant prequel

You could read this before or after the elementals with ease. I feel a greater bond with Mira now, knowing her life story. A.L. Knorr s a superb writer, fast paced, detailed and depicts love and plight well within a sci-fi genre. I read one of her books and am now steadily working my way through them all. They keep you wanting to know more and feeling deeply connected to the characters. Perfect for a large range of ages. Loved the bond Mira feels to her her daughter and I feel sympathetic towards it. Keep them coming please! More, more! Thank you

Fantastic Prequel

This book (or 3 combined into one boxed set) is Mira's story. Mira is Targa's mother - both are mermaids. We meet Targa and Mira in Born of Water from the main Elemental Origins series..

The first book covers Mira's return from the sea and she's ready to find a mate to have a child with - the only problem is, the man she falls in love with is already in a relationship with her best friend.

The second book covers Mira and Nate's courtship, wedding and honeymoon - Mira finds out on her honeymoon that mermaids are not meant to be up in the sky and the altitude makes her sick.

The third book is set 10 years later when Mira has been widowed and Targa is 10 - it also introduces Saxony and Georjie,

Altogether, the three books are really good and we get to find out more about what life was like for Mira before we get to Targa's story, and how she ended up working for the salvage diving company.

Gabra Zackman did another great job of narrating these books.
