Story
What does it mean to be an adult? In the 20th century, psychologists came up with five markers of adulthood: finish your education, get a job, leave home, marry, and have children. Since then, every generation has been held to those same markers. Yet so much has changed about the world and living in it since that sequence was formulated. All of those markers are choices, and they’re all valid, but any one person’s choices along those lines do not make them more or less an adult.

In other words, it’s not about the factors that are frequently beyond our control.

Fantastic Person and Book
Sheila Mac is an incredible person, and tells her life story and how that led to her formula for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.
If a genre so full of self help books, this one stands out because the author has really has the life experiences, full of ups and downs yet triumphs through her strength and discipline. Although the book and title seem aimed at women, I think so much of the advice is applicable to men.
Sheila does a wonderful job narrating her own book.
I strongly recommend it!
