Advice on how to have healthy, dynamic relationships from Raashaun (DJ Envy) and Gia Casey, revealing their secrets to navigating marriage, family, and faith

Gia and Raashaun Casey met when they were two teenagers living around the corner from each other in Queens. They have been together for an astounding 25 years and have remained together through Raashaun's growing celebrity, a devastating (and very public) cheating scandal, and the births of five children. Now, a quarter of a century into their relationship, they are stronger and more committed to each other than they've ever been, and their fans are clamoring to know how they did it.

In Real Life, Real Love, Gia and Raashaun explore the entire chronology of their love story with remarkable vulnerability, searing honesty, and a lot of humor. It's a riveting narrative about how to grow together, an aspirational guidebook for people who seek the same unconditional love in their relationships, and an in-depth look at how to remain equals after being thrust into the public eye.

AMAZING!!!!

Gia is so amazing!!! Her mother gave her so much love and wisdom, it's truly a beautiful thing! I didnt think I would learn much from this book because I'm not married HOWEVER, Envy and Gia dropped so many gems, it's unreal!!! You guys need a young, married couples tv show.. where you guide newlyweds through that hard period, the first year of marriage and help them come out on the other end!! You would be PERFECT for that. ESPECIALLY GIA!!!! If you're having relationship issues OR you simply want to learn how to love your spouse better, THIS IS THE BOOK!!!

I wanted More than what was discussed on their Pod

I love Gia and her Fam and thoroughly enjoy their Podcast. I was first drawn in from a clip I saw when envy apologized on the radio for his infidelities and the rest is history. I bought this book expecting Gia to give a better insight on her trauma during that difficult time. I wanted the raw and uncut truth, I wanted her to bear it all out in the book and express how vulnerable and hurt she was, I wanted her to recount every second that passed during that time and I felt that it wasn't delivered . The same thing said on the podcast was what we got in this book . It was a bare repetitive performance. I also got the impression that Gia did not bare her naked self due to it being so public at the time and she wanted to shield the readers of how hurt and embarrassed she was as a way not to give power to the mistress. Besides that I enjoyed it and hope that if they do decide to make another book that they are more open to the matters the readers want to read. Also envy should have someone read his part.

Great Read

I was disappointed that I didn't get to hear from Charlemagne and Kirk Franklin in the audio book.

Real love with real people

This book is great for individuals or couplesst every stage of their relationship. DJ Envy and Gia did a great job.

I love how they chose to work through the infidelity, but on their terms. Envy speaking on the importance of seeking help during your low points as a Black Man is needed. The Black community is embracing therapy more, and that's beautiful.

Gia and her resilience on how SHE wanted to move forward after infidelity was beautiful. Even with her mind made up, she put her first, but she allowed her heart and mind to be open for a different outcome.

I recommend couple to read this book a few times, because so many gems are here, if you listen.

Not what expected

This book felt more like a Gia bio, not a relationship book. I enjoy Gia story and the stories about family, the good and bad. However, Raashaun stories weren't complete to me. I feel I can understand Gia as she opened up about her, her childhood and her relationship with her parents. Raashaun did really go into his childhood, or his relationship with his parents. I am assuming we are to assume because he was an only child that he was the way he about women. Where did his obsession come from? What is his relationship with his parents like? The stories about the children and their relationship were complete as well.
