Hail is a Dark Kindred. Since emotions are outlawed on his home world, he is learning to feel now that he lives on the Mother Ship. Strong emotions are bad news, though - they bring out the part of his DNA that is Bolaxian Beast, a race of beings known for their fierce breeding lust.

Bonding to this great listen

This was my first by this author. It will grab you from the first sentence and hold you right till the end . Evangeline knows how to have a story full of drama, mystery and a fantastic storyteller. The narrator was great. First I heard from her . Her voice was clear , she played all the parts perfectly. You can tell each character by her tone of voice

Hero is Hali Heroine is Isabel .
Hail has been programmed not to have feelings. Hail is on the mother ship being looked after .With the smallest emotions they are punished. Hail has learned to not show any emotions. Hail has learned to keep his beast under control

Isabel is a signal mother. Her son is sick with Needs but he’s also gifted . Izzy has been running from her abuse sons father .
Izzy keeps on seeing a man in her dreams . She has seen him in her dreams more than once in her life .
Isabel is helping a friend with the friends baby shower . Isabel gets a shock when she goes towards a room and she sees the man in her dreams before her . Hail has been dreaming of Isabel also .
Are they connected. Does Hails beast recognize Isabel has their mate

Bonding with the Beast

Hail never thought that he would find a woman or have a family of his own and is surprised to find the woman that he has been dreaming of is the woman that he agreed to escort to the ship from Earth. Isobel is stunned to see the big man that she sees in her nightly dreams in the flesh and in her home. Is it just a coincidence or is there more at work here?

This is an interesting story. I really liked that the main character was a single mother. Isobel is a strong woman and does what she can to survive and keep her son safe. When Hail enters her world life as she knows it is turned to chaos. She must learn to trust her feelings for Hail and he in turn must learn to understand his feelings. Sparks are there from the start but soon they begin to deepen into something more. It was nice to see the way their relationship takes shape. Hail is so much more than the menacing soldier he used to be, and Isobel uncovers this. It was nice to see the interaction between many of the characters and especially between Hail and Isobel’s son.

The story moves along nicely, and narrator McKenzie Cartwright does a good job of giving the characters life and emotions.

This Book is a little Different But really Good

This book is a little different than the normal Kindred books. I love how we get to see some of the orginal charaters and how they enteract with the new charatere.

I really like how the Kindred showed how they can change for the better, when they are a little different.

Just keep an open mind and really just enjoy the book. I will be deffintly be getting more of the books on audio they really add to reading the book with it.

I just could not stop listening to it.

Loved

I am happy I also got to listen to the audio of the book. Audio gives it a totally different feel then reading the ebook itself. The narrator did such a wonderful job.
I have read all the Kindred bride series and have a few favorites, the beast Kindred being one of them. Hail was different than the beast Kindred we know. Hail is mostly Kindred but he also has Bolaxian Berserker in him. The beast can be very dangerous.

Hail was a Dark Kindred. Though he was so hard on himself there was so much I loved about him. He truly had a good heart. When reading about him I had to wonder what it would be like to adjust the level on your emotions. I do like how he kept his emotions to a level where he had a little feeling. It had to be hard to be use to not feeling to be able to feel.

Isobel Yates past had so much pain in it. She had a young son who had Asperger’s Syndrome. I love how Isobel put her son first. She would give her life for him. She never thought she would find a man that would see how special her son truly was. I also loved the moment was read about Hail and Brandon’s interaction. So heartwarming.

I feel like I should say more about Brandon which was Isobel’s son. When reading this book, you cannot help but fall in love with this boy. You will see that he is truly special and a walking genius. I loved how he absorbed knowledge. I love how Isabel was blown away by the interaction between Hail and Brandon. Brandon never knew what it was like to have a loving father and Hail did not know what it was like to have a family. Each will find something they need a long for. I do not believe every kid could of reach or understood Hail like Brandon. Hail needed Brandon as much as Brandon needed Hail.

There is something that happens that will crush Hail’s world. He will have a hard time dealing with it and Isobel is having a hard time reaching him. I have to wonder if Hail was in love with Isobel before he ever met her. I love reading about the growing love that Isobel was starting to have for Hail.

I truly loved the fact that this was about a single mother. I would like to see more upcoming books with single mothers and would like to see some on single Kindred fathers. The story was truly special and glad I got the chance to read the book.

Enjoyed!

Narrator: McKenzie Cartwright gets 5 Stars for her performance in Bonding With the Beast. One of my biggest pet peeves is how the males voice is handled by a female narrator. McKenzie did a great job. Her voice allowed me to submerge into the story and I didn't even think about it when she switched between characters.

Story: I've only ever read book one in this series but it was enough to know what to expect when listening to the audio of Bonding With the Beast. When a series has so many books, it's nice to know you don't have to follow in order and just pick what sounds good at the time.

Hail is big and scary but deep down he is just a big teddy bear. He does have Bolaxian Beast genetics in him that turns him into a beast in battle and mating. He's feared that side of himself so much that he had an emotion damper attached to him so he can control the beast. He never thought he would be able to actually have a mate one day.

Isobel is a human single mom. She filed for divorce and fled from her ex husband with her little boy. When Hail enters their life, she is too afraid to allow him in due to her mistreatment from her ex. She's surprised when her son wants Hail in their life.

I enjoyed Hail and Isobel's story. This has me wanting to get back into this series and reading the rest of them. I highly recommend getting the audiobooks. McKenzie was fantastic.

Utterly Flawless Perfection!

Bonding with the Beast is a uniquely phenomenal experience that will blow your mind and incinerate your heart. You will be left with the smoldering ashes of your resistance sizzling all around you. There is nothing more sensual or more enticing then a story that has a man who holds his beast at bay with a tentative hold while trying to not fall for a woman who makes his heart light up and his beast howl with desperate need. Beauty and the Beast will always be my favorite fairy tale no matter how old I get. Love is never wrong or devastating when the heart is completely invested and refuses to be denied.

This story delightfully couples my love for a well-written romance with my appreciation of the wonderful world of sci fi. It is such a blissful coupling that fully engages my mind while feeding my heart in a way that will leave its indelible mark. I highly recommend this and any other book written by this fantastic author. She is one not be missed!

The characters made my heart melt in delirium and took my mind on a wonderful high. I never experienced such an intellectually challenging and deeply touching story that reached such a high caliber of satisfaction. This story and its author could easily earn every romance award ever created in my opinion. This is truly the gold standard of romance!

McKenzie Cartwight was absolute and undeniable perfection in her incredible narration of this marvelous story! Her performance was wonderfully flawless and truly inspiring. I hated for this audiobook adventure to end. It portrayed a brilliance and depth that you don’t see often enough, and the talent was through the roof! This was an overwhelming beauty that I welcomed for only a short time into my life, but its impact will be felt for a very long time to come.

Listened non-stop

I liked listening to this book. I listened nonstop until the end.
In my opinion this book was much better than the first one. Commander Hail has a berserker beast that he is afraid would hurt anyone who would be his mate.
Hail and Isobel have been dream sharing but doesn't know what it means. Isobel has a son that may be autistic and he has been dream sharing too.
Can they each put aside their fears and embrace something that was brought about by the goddess?

A hero who doesn't want to have the feels!

Amanda Lyn here again from your favorite romance audiobook review source, Sounds Like Romance.

Long story short? Get. This. Audiobook.

Want more detail? I'm serving up details spoiler-free just for you!

Here's what I think are the biggest catnips for this paranormal/scifi romance:
* we've got a hero who doesn't want to have the feels (a weakness of mine!)
* a single mom (who was written SO WELL) with a kid on the spectrum
* forced proximity
* for readers/listeners unfamiliar with the Kindred series, H/h have dreams about each other before they meet (swoooon)

Any pet peeves?
* Um, no. Anderson handled several sensitive topics so well that all I wanted was more, more more.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things:
* No matter the situation, the heroine didn't get d*ck-glamored; she always knew that she had to get "home" which was a good way of referring to her son without mentioning a kid during sexy times
* The hero ended up not being an alphahole like I expected him to be and had these super sweet interactions with the heroine's son
* Did I mention he's got his V-card? MY FAVORITE
* The way the author handled the character of a child on the autism spectrum was really well done. He wasn't just a sock muppet or a placeholder for a child, he was fully realized and interesting and was brought into the family element in a way that was really lovely for this long-running erotic sci-fi series

Performance:
* YO. McKenzie Cartwright is the motherfluffing QUEEN. It's been a while since I was impressed by a female narrator this much and, okay, I'll say it--she could go toe to toe with Erin Mallon any day of the week. Smoky male tones, a soft feminine curl to her voice that never dips into whiny or annoying, a sweet delivery for the kid. Yep, my newest voice crush right here. Give me all the books this woman narrates because this is pure, oh-so-sexy performance and that's no lie.
