If you are familiar with Ice Planet Barbarians, this is right alongside in type of story. The writing for Nailing the Alien is not quite the same caliber as IPB in my opinion, but the story was super enjoyable nonetheless. We have a strong human female hiding out from a bounty and a male Orc in need of mellowing out. Their pairing is cute but primarily focused on sex. LOTS of playful innuendos written into the story. You need to go into this story expecting something light hearted, silly, playful, smutty.

This was an audio read for me, and the narration was great!

I liked this one

The readers were really good. They played the characters nicely.
And it was a good story

Meh. Disappointing

I read to be entertained and use my imagination to travel. This was not worth my time. The supposedly funny comments were crude innuendos. I didn’t find it humorous. The female is the one thinking these crude things. I’m sure that is done, but it wasn’t believable. There is a novella included and it’s the same thing. It’s just feels like a teens crude thoughts. I wasn’t amused or entertained.

Fun Fluffy Romance

So, there is a bonus novella at the end of the main story. I really enjoyed it. While it's in no way crucial to listen to in order, the novella actually takes place before Nailing the Alien. If you want to listen, I believe it starts around chapter 50.

The male narrator of the main story made the character sound SO pompous and stiff. I'm not sure how much the character was supposed to actually sound like that. At times it annoyed me, but I still really enjoyed the story. There are lots of humorous moments, and I love the heroine. (Actually, I love both heroines of both stories even though they're quite different.)

Favorite Orc

I really loved this story. The narrators did a great job, especially the male narrator. His voice had me laughing out loud a few times.
