Publisher's Summary

She was never supposed to walk into my club. But she did.

I shouldn’t have looked twice at her. But I did.

The criminal underworld is no place for a girl like her.

One night with Katerina isn’t enough, but men like me can’t afford to be weak. So, I tell her to leave me behind. She does, but not before she sees something she shouldn’t.

When she goes into hiding, it’s my duty to hunt her down. I have a job to do, and she needs to disappear for good.

But four years later, Kat isn’t alone anymore. And the little boy right beside her looks just like me.

A 5 ⭐️ WRITING DUO THAT DELIVERED MAFIA MAGIC

I love both these authors and I’ve previously had hours and hours of enjoyment from their romances.. so, when this gritty Mafia duet came out, I eagerly bought both books.. and WOW this epic story was an intense edgy rollercoaster ride. Katerina (aka Kat) is a sweet shy nineteen year old who finds herself in a very vulnerable out of control situation after getting high for the first time in the notoriously shady Delirium Nightclub. Then Kat locks eyes with an unlikely handsome saviour - Levka Antonov (aka Lev) - the Club’s broody, dark and very dangerous Manager.. and, through a delicious bitter-sweet chain of events, their steamy one night together has life-changing consequences for both of them.

Behind his Manager’s mask, Lev is a Bratva Assassin.. he doesn’t do relationships and can’t afford to let emotions or feelings get in the way of his lethal job.. or his quest to uncover the truth. He’s a ruthless cold-blooded killer.. but, as soon as he sees Kat, his protectiveness for her awakens.. a protectiveness that will save her life over and over again because Kat ends up in the wrong place at the worst time and witnesses something horrific and has to flee. And it will take Lev four years to find her again - and their intense bitter-sweet reunion will have Lev unearthing a shocking discovery. But his subsequent second-chance choices will make a deadly enemy or two along the way as he uncovers sinister long-held secrets, breaks blood ties and makes a surprising alliance in order to destroy the threats that stand in his new family’s way.

Awesome dual POV narration brought to life the tingling chemistry, the tension and suspense, the thrills and darkish chills, the trip-wires, the tempest that was Lev’s possessive protectiveness, the tender, touching, explosive and sexy scenes and the turbulent dangerous drama and angst caused by two villainous vile characters. Kat and Lev are damaged but perfect for each other and, as their fireworks lead to some sweet, steamy, tender, intense and heartwarming scenes, their rollercoaster romance sweeps through a book 1 cliffhanger ending to a beautiful hard-won HEA soft finish. Good character growth as Kat finds her claws and Lev finds his heart.

Worth a credit? Well, we’re talking about two - and yes definitely they’re both absolutely one-hundred percent worth it. Wonderful storytelling as these two talented authors deliciously delivered everything I’d hoped for.. and much much more.

Micheal always over does it!!!

The ONLY reason I purchased book 1&2 is because of A. Zavarelli, I have her complete collection of books in my library. EVERY TIME Micheal Pierce narrators, no matter who’s the author I WILL NOT PURCHASE THE BOOK ON AUDIBLE!!!!!
Dude everything is not a dramatic read!!! Why can’t he just speak normally when he reads basic stuff like a simple description of watching from the woods. There’s a book 😕 which I will not name, but he starts off reading as if the character is freaking out. The character was described as a chilled person and Micheals had to read it as if the guy is having a pandemic attack. 😒THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE BOOK☹️☹️🤯🤯😡😡😞😒😞🙁🙁

The only reason, & I mean The ONLY REASON I purchased this book on audible, was because these 2 authors never fails to write a kick ass book. & McKenzie Catwright is why ☀️ Performance has 4 🤩🤩🤩🤩. I ❤️ 💕 Mckenize🎁 if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be able to enjoy this book.

OH ! OH !ONE MORE THING!!!!!OK 🙃🤓🙃A. Zavarelli has Tracey Marks narrator her books, no shade to you McKenzie. But WHAT PISSED me ROYALY off. I mean like made me pause the book and repeat to myself this is only a book. when Micheal FUCK UP😡🤯🤬 Ghost and his wife voice & the vibe of who they are. I’m a huge fan of the Boston Underword series by A. Zavarelli. McKenzie should have read that part or Michael should have done his homework. Ghost is Loyal, cold blooded When needs to be. But he is not a happy go luck kind of guy. {{ I’m not going to say anything about how no one should know Ghost Secret. Family or not }}

It’s worth the Credit
Somebody tell Michael Pierce it’s ok to just speak like any normal male, unless needed.

4 STARS

I'm a huge fan of mafia books so as soon as I saw this on audio I had to get it. It ticks off many of my boxes and while I did like the book something was missing. I almost feel like this could have been a really solid standalone instead of a duet. Maybe it was because I already knew about the secret baby going in. I wish it would have not been in the blurb, it would have been an awesome surprise. The things I did like of course are that the hero will do what he has to to get his girl and child. I also liked that the main character is connected to one from A Zavarelli's Boston Underworld series.

Narration was good but would have liked more of a Russian accent.

The male narrator is the worst!!

I really really tried, because I was interested in the story. I wanted to know what happened with female lead and how she was going to fall for this guy. This is my kind of story, alpha male, dark romance, stuff like that. But oh lord, the male narrator was way too much. So completely over dramatic, that I just couldn't listen anymore. The female narrator was great so I loved listening to her and she made me want to keep going. But I just couldn't take another minute of him. Too bad because the story seems great.

Really good but I hate cliffhangers

Zev works for his uncle monster Vasilli, in order to find out what happens to his mother, who was murdered. While working, he sees two girls who were tripping on some kind of drug and Zev instinctually knew something was wrong. From that day, he felt responsible for Katerina, the birthday girl who was to quite legal enough to be at the club.

There was an immediate attraction but both of them had secrets and it eventually created a divide. Zev wanted Kat but wasn’t sure he could keep her safe especially as he worked for a ruthless uncle. Then came the time to choose between love and the life...and of course the cliffhanger.

I will say that this was full of angst but it wasn’t that dark and I appreciated it. I like a little dark but not enough to make me feel grossed out. The writing by these two was seamless and the narrators nailed the tone of what I remember from the Boston Underground series. I will definitely be getting book 2.

Worst male narrator!

It's hard to get engrossed in a audio book when there's a man literally screaming at you. The story was decent but not good enough for me to want to purchase the next installment with that voice making my ears bleed!

His voice is horrible. Not able to finish it.

Because his voice is horrible and rushed it made it hard to continue listening. It might have been a good story with a different male voice. It's like listening to a Robot. Thumbs down all the way.

Cliffhanger!

It's really good and as with all other cliffhangers, right as you're at the edge of your seat, wondering what's next it ends, Damn it. Sorry guys, don't have enough patience to write a detailed review, starting the 2d book now.

Part of a Duet

Book 1 of 2 . This first one very good and intriguing
All action leads up to a conclusion in the next book. Frustrated because I don’t recall a mention of 2. It has kept my interest so I will be getting the next in this series which I’m hoping is the conclusion. Great performances by both narrators

Riveting, fabulous must read mob romance.. Natasha Knight at her best!

Wow! I love most books by Natasha Knight so this was on my must read list and I wasn't left disappointed. This was a gritty action packed adventure neglecting the insta love connection most of these type of books opt for, taking a lustful attraction approach which is refreshing.

Lev has a sorry excuse of a life, no close connections materialistic or familial. His life is an empty shell reflected in the home he resides. Lev's main focus is seeking retribution for his mother's death and working for his uncle.

Kat is a beautiful red head who's life collides with Lev and things are never the same again.. for either of them.

The lust between them is passionate, heated and intense.. and Kat is not a virgin.. which is again against the norm for these type of books.

I hoovered this up in no time and started the next instalment because the cliff hanger in this book meant i couldn't rest without starting it.. albeit 2am.. sigh!

Talk about leaving it on a cliff hanger.

If you’re looking for a meek and mild romance, then definitely skip this dark tale. But if you’re looking for a disturbing plot line and a rough raunchy listen then this is for you!

Gripping, intense, engaging

Wow, what an amazing story. This book was totally gripping, really intense and thoroughly engaging. The story felt completely fresh and original.

I'm a big fan of the mafia romance genre and this book absolutely delivered. I thought the characters were really believable and relatable, and I just loved Kat and Lev. These two were just perfect. This book is so much more than the blurb states. There is real jeopardy and threats to both these characters throughout, which really ups the anti.

Within this book were some beautiful gems for us with the appearance of one of A Zavarelli's character's from her Boston Underworld series. I absolutely loved that.

An amazing mafia audio. This is part 1 of a duet, and left us on a cliffhanger, but is also a substantial book of its own.

I felt the two narrators were absolutely perfect for this story.
