Excellent Information

I am a senior, almost 70 years old, who has been exercising for many years. The information in this book was life-changing for me. Finding out that I could actually get much better results in a fraction of the time with virtually no risk of injury was nothing short of a revelation. I've only been using the program for a month and I've already noticed positive changes.

This is one long advertisement for Nautilus

This isn't worth listening to unless you are willing and able to go to a gym facility with Nautilus equipment (which my Mom was a huge fan of in the 80s!). Even then, this seems hyperbolic in stated outcomes. I purchased this upon someone's recommendation--I wish I had just check it out from the library first as I would have know two chapters in that this reads like one long Nautilus infomercial.

Great for average people

The average gym rat / workout warrior will find this book proscribes for too LITTLE exercise. But I feel that many including seniors will be comforted to find that increased fitness can be had in far less than one hour a day. This workout regimen may not work for everyone but it is worth experimenting yourself to see how this works for you.

Best Strength Training Book EVER

I will probably never buy another book on Strength Training because of the research and insights in the this book about the way our bodies grow muscle. A bit light on the quantity of exercises, but I am still giving it 5 Stars because quality is better than quantity.

facts?

There was a small body of information that became
redundant as the book went on. it also claimed many facts backed by evidence. however from my own experience a few essential premise of the book are either false or exaggerated. I would recommend reading this book but taking it with a grain if salt. Essentially all you need to know is do the big 5 resistance training exercises once a week for life and you will be healthy. just push hard and go to exhaustion. Big 5: pull back, push forward, pull down, press up, leg press.

Informative and educational.

Wow! What many may have once assumed and thought was right or correct, may be inaccurate. This was an exercise changing book, for the better. Loved this audible. Some may find it difficult at times to follow, but push through and persevere. You will be happy you did.

Detail oriented.

This book is an indepth and persuasive look at what fitness and health could be. It is carefully documented with experience, verified research studies and logical reasoning. At times it uses complex bioscience, physiology, and psychology. However after giving the details a simple understandable explanation follows.
I want to listen again and take notes. I plan on using the information to build a path way to health and fitness for myself and my family.

Can’t wait to try it

OK I really enjoyed the story the narrator was fantastic and the subject matter was sufficiently researched. I think the reason why everybody isn’t doing this is because the workouts are profoundly challenging moment to moment so you really have to set yourself up to do it, have a goal And stick to it

superb

Another excellent book on audible very informative with lots of tips backed by science. The biggest takeaway I got from this was you don't need to train as much as you think to reap the benefits and results.

Important information for anyone who wants to be healthy

I came to this book via Philip Shepherd’s book “Deep Fitness” - I think the science is crucial and that everyone should know what is written here.

It`s never too late

Fantastic information. I have been weight training since my early 20`s ( I am now 59). The training method of time under tension really does give you the best results. Wished I trained Doug`s way earlier, but it`s never too late as explained in the book. Do yourself a favour, buy the book and start performing the exercises.

Surprising, informative and inspiring

I enjoyed it, and am putting it's subject matter to the test. A lot of detail is very in depth and requires a re-listen for me to fully understand, but as the book moves on, you get to understand the need for all the background information.

This book breaks so many preconceived ideas on experience. Life changing for me.
