Publisher's summary

Veronica Buccino has a plan: marry John DelMonico and quit her soul-sucking job as a lawyer. And when he tells her he has big news, she's certain he'll pop the question. But instead of proposing, John informs her that he's moving to London.

Heartbroken, Veronica feels lost. Salvatore and Antoinette, her dead grandparents, begin to visit her dreams in an attempt to steer her in the right direction. At their suggestion, Veronica takes a news reporting class, which leads to a challenging freelance assignment covering a conspiracy trial. She also begins dating an unlikely suitor: creative Syd Blackman.

Just when her love life and career are looking up, Veronica is tossed back to square one by an event that makes her question all her new choices.

Great summer listen!

Any additional comments?

Okay, I know it's not officially summer yet but this is the epitome of a summer listen. The main character, Veronica, was a joy to know. She was funny and serious and made mistakes but you loved her. She didn't do that angsty 'woe is me' crap and just kept picking herself up after each knockdown. Such a great character.

I LOVED that the HEA was not as simple as walking off into the sunset. Veronica had to work for it (read: grow up and be true to herself) and that was very refreshing.

There were some real life situations that were dealt with and not just thrown in to make the story longer. (Thank you for that author.)

The narrator was PURRRRRFECT!!! I enjoyed her embodiment of Veronica immensely. Most of this book took place in Veronica's head and the narrator kept Veronica real and her thoughts believable. I just loved her. (Both the narrator and Veronica.)

If you have not chosen a summer listen yet, don't let this one go.

Delightful and insightful read!

A very enjoyable read, with the exception of the prolific use of the "F" word. I would have given it five stars were it not for that.

A Cute Contemporary Romance

Better in the Morning was a cute, fun listen. It sort of reminded me of a New York version of Bridget Jones. Veronica seems to be a neurotic lawyer who wishes to be a reporter who loses the guy she wants and decides to internet date.

I liked this story because it was carefree and fun with great narration.

Fern Ronay's performance was very well done. She had an amazing accent with great characterization. With her performance I could picture Veronica perfectly. This was an overall great listen.

Unique Contemporary Romance

This was a cute Contemporary Romance. The characters were well developed and the main characters were interesting.

Veronica was undecided about her life and seemed unhappy with her job as a lawyer. For an educated and supposedly smart person she was never doing her job and always seemed to be unprepared for whatever they expected her to do.

The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life. I really liked her.

There was an unusual aspect in this story. Veronica met with her deceased grandparents in her dreams. They guided her and helped her with her indecisiveness and to make better choices.

Overall, I really liked the story, it kept my attention from beginning to conclusion. It was a sweet conclusion.

Sweet Clean, and very good

Both the author and narrator were new to me with this book. I found the story to be totally original and enjoyable. I loved the communication between the main character and her grandparents. I keep thinking about red velvet cupcakes and the sweet story. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and or publisher. I will most definitely look for more books by the author and narrator.

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises.

The narrator did a wonderful job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

Wow

I got this book via audiobook boom. This book was a series of events in Veronic's life. She was acting like a ditzy person who was visited by her grandparents until she finally made the right decision and married Syd. She was a frustrated lawyer who wanted to be a reporter. The narrator was good and added to the story. I can't gush over this book as other reviewers have since Veronica had so many opportunities to do what she wanted and almost lost each one because she seemed to be so smart but could not make the right decisions without outside help.
