Publisher's summary

When Fig Coxbury buys a house on West Barrett Street, it's not because she likes the neighborhood, or even because she likes the house.

It's because everything she desires is next door: the husband, the child, and the life that belongs to someone else.

5 WTF Stars

Ok, lets just get this out of the way first, I freaking LOVE Tarryn Fisher, I have a MAHOOSIVE girl crush on her, I mean have you seen her?
She is not only absolutely gorgeous, she also writes about the most f@*ked up characters ever.

If you haven't read any of her books then don't delay, she is truly gifted, start with her Love Me With Lies series, and you'll be hooked, she is the epitome of an Anti HEA.

Right, lets get to this book!

Written in 3 POV's this little story is certainly not sweet, it is a rough, ready little mind f*@k!

Fig Coxbury moves into a new house, to start a new life, and she certainly does that, she looks through the window and sees a little girl playing in the garden, she then sees the perfect couple next door, and decides that she wants that, not a perfect life, she actually wants THAT family! She wants the husband, and the little girl, so she sets out to get it.

Think of a couple of movies from years ago, remember Single White Female and Fatal Attraction? Great, now times that sucker by 5 and this is what you get.

You will not be in Kansas anymore Toto, you will think you have everything pegged in your little mind, and then BOOM, Tarryn throws in a curve ball or another WTF moment and you will be back to square 1.

Who is the bad guy?
How can 3 people be so bat sh*t crazy?

I can't (and won't) go into too much detail about this one as it needs to be read blind.

Don't read too many reviews, but do read this one people, I can not big this one up enough.

Jump on the crazy train and pack enough WTF's to last you the full journey.........you're going to need them 😱

A must read/listen

This book had a different approach than most books. I really enjoyed all the plot twists and the narrators did a great job. Loved it!

First book - satisfied

My only complaint is the voice of Fig. It was a bit too scratchy for my liking.

Started well but flops in the middle

And the end leaves a lot to be desired. Also, lots of plot wholes between the three characters.

Pure entertainment!

I thought this book was really well-done! I hadn't read the reviews before purchasing, so I didn't know ahead of time that the book was told from the three perspectives, or other details I discovered on my own. (I have another audiobook by this author I liked so went mostly from how much I enjoyed that one, and the small synopsis for this one.)

Spoiler: I took one star away from the story because, despite the book being called Bad Mommy, and Fig's initial obsession w/the family DUE to Mercy, that obsession with becoming her mother seemed to fade very quickly as she pursued Darius and Jolene moreso. So that felt a little contrived. The title implies that (and the book begins as) being a mother was Fig's biggest intention, yet she dropped it so fast. Also, Fig was seeing a therapist in the beginning. Why did she decide to do that, and whatever happened to it? It didn't seem to be mentioned again...

Engaging and scary!

I was on edge throughout the book. I was a bit worried I wouldn’t care for having three narrators, but they really pulled it off. At a dinner party I kept wondering...is she like Fig?
