There is even a project to build

There is even a project to build a bee hive along with some basics of taking care of your bees and wise advice as to where to seek more knowledge about bee keeping.

Spike really goes to some great lengths to show you how to do things right and build so that your creations will last the tests of time.

This book seems to have a lot of information

This book seems to have a lot of information that will be helpful. I'm pretty good at building my own projects so I think some of this info may not be as useful to me as the other books I received (The Backyard Homestead Farm Animals and The Backyard Homestead). Either way...this book is great and is worth purchasing!

Growing Flowers and Beekeeping

It's a well-written book with very helpful info if you're planning to grow vegetables. Plant pairing suggestions were great! However, I wanted to grow a raised garden around the edge of my yard with ornamental plants, and expected there would be at least some tips and ideas for non-vegetable gardening.

This book was packed with all sorts of tidbits

! This book was packed with all sorts of tidbits and tips on so many different animals. Housing you need to think of, various nutrition facts to think about, butchering your own meat, the list goes on and on. Would give this as a gift for those thinking of starting their own little farms.

This book is bigger and much longer than

This book is bigger and much longer than I was expecting. It goes animal by animal, with a few lumped together when it makes sense, and goes over all the basic things you would need or want to know before starting out with that animal. It’s not something that I would use as a reference book or even as a guide once an animal has been acquired but it’s invaluable as a source of information on each animal.

It’s very through yet is not written

It’s very through yet is not written like a textbook. It’s written in an easy to read format where there are blurbs of information separates by pictures and boxes of other info to make the reading anything but monotonous.

The quantity of projects in this book is amazing.

The quantity of projects in this book is amazing. There is so much to build from the simple to the complex. Everything is laid out with easy designs to follow, along with a comprehensive parts and materials list to buy. The beginning of the book has good info for the beginner on how to work with wood and what tools you will need to help overall construction. I bought this for my wife and told her to mark the pages of the things she wanted me to build. Near half the book is dog eared, I'll be busy for a long time and she'll be happy for a long time.
