Publisher's Summary

How prepared are you to guide your baby through the first and most important year of his life?

There’s nothing quite like a baby’s first months of life, as they are arguably the ones that will have the most impact throughout their entire development.

First-time parents and veterans agree that the first year can be one of the most challenging stages to face.

Here's some of what you can expect to learn inside the pages of this book:

  • How to properly feed your baby for optimal development and health throughout the first year
  • Discover how to avoid having endless sleepless nights by sleep-training your child
  • Learn how to avoid common mistakes that parents make that can end up harming their baby's development in the long-term
  • How to properly deal with separation anxiety and make it much easier on your child, and you
  • The biggest challenges parents face in the first year and how to easily overcome them

Would you like to enjoy going through every stage of your child's development without worrying if you're doing the right thing or not?

The earlier you manage to give proper guidance and care, the easier it is for babies to grow into healthy children. However, there is no such thing as being too late, and even tricky behaviors and habits can be helped.

Increase confidence in your parenting abilities. Start by taking care of your baby the proper way from the moment he arrives home for the first time!

Provides helpful instructions

Awesome listen from this audible. I love the approach that it takes when referring to the baby, and still includes sound suggestions, advice and instruction. My son and his wife ate highly competitive and I can easily imagine him comparing this book to her "What to Expect the 1st Year" I truly hunk the layout/approach is perfect for any new parent, but Dads especially, as it lends a comfortable frame of reference and terms.

Worth the purchase

Wonderful book. We are the first time parents, still expecting and this book was recommended by a friend as a bible. I think it is a nice book that explains everything in detail and provides different options rather than just one. We are also Europeans and wanted to listen something in addition to a European book (believe me, there are so many differences!), and I think we chose a great option! I would recommend this to anyone! Better buy one good book than many :)

Strongly recommend!

I bought the audio book and listened to it while commuting back and forth in my car. Strongly recommend for lazy/busy people. I am glad that I learned about the concept of attached parenting and importance of breastfeeding. I think I will listen to the newborn part again just to recap before my baby arrives.

Practical information

So much practical information and despite probably being able to find the same information online on various sites, it is our go-to and a great source of insight. It is a huge book and is an interesting listen. If only I had more time to just sit down and listen it..

Excellent basic book for new parent

My daughter loves this book (and the pregnancy/birthing book) - over all the overs. Big disclaimer, it is all for attachment parenting. However, it discuss developmental milestones, behavioral issues, touches on medical issues, etc. Excellent basic book for a new parent.

Great advance tips

I stumbled upon both basic and advance tips here. It did help both of us (My husband and I) to feel a little more prepared and having it as a reference provides some level of comfort. You’ll be shock to know how anxious we were before we found this book. I appreciate this little help.

Helped me a lot!

It was my touchstone with my first child and, as a result, made me feel pretty confident for my second. Attachment parenting has helped my high needs baby become a lovable toddler and my people-pleasing wallflower gain confidence.

Got useful information

It covers EVERYTHING - how to swaddle, diapers, circumcision care, first aid, feeding, sleeping, etc. It's not overly wordy - it gives you the information and moves on. Listen like a car manual, which husband loves. Buy this, it's so useful and also funny!

Explained clearly

The author of this explained it with clarity and wisdom. I just can't resist it even though I don't need it yet as my wife just 3-month pregnant. The explaining style and almost everything about it is commendable.

Fantastic book!

I love the way this is explained, it's informative without being in your face. It's more like story telling than instructional. A lot of the philosophy is do what works for you and read the signs from your baby. I also like that there is medical research to back their claims as well as home testimony. I recommend this book to ANY new parent so that they can realize that babies aren't a dog you are supposed to train, but a human being who has their own quirks, their own schedules, and their own way of doing things. Fantastic book!
