Book 2 of this unique spin on Apocalyptic LitRPG Adventures.

Botanists who choose to get teleported into dangerous jungles are very rare, and if Mira can survive, she may just become indispensible to the System itself.

I could’ve devoured the first two books in one sitting but it was so good that - despite the pain it caused - I was stingy and parsed the book slowly so that it would last longer… too bad not even the projected book 3 release date came out by the time I finished. It’s all the tiny details that really make the story for me. I have a black thumb and still thoroughly enjoyed the series so far.

Where’s book 3?

Having survived her first week our heroine has earned a Legacy with a patron god. Of course nothing is easy. The god that is her patron plans to ignore her until she’s better at soul magic, and her secondary class tutor god is leading an aggressive pace to get her up to speed. Meanwhile the Guardians of the woods want her gone, she saves a stranded delivery guy, and she makes deals left and right for training and power. She’s now on the path to becoming a Guardian herself and has been set against the upcoming invasion of humanity into the woods.

A great second installment that picks up right where the first left off. Not a standalone novel. The World and System get fleshed out a bit more. And the character gains a bit of introspection. The narrator remains awesome. Please enjoy

I'll be honest. I'm really not a fan of the world outside of the forest. It just sounds 100% terrible with almost comically evil people everywhere.

I also still don't have a really great picture of the layout of the forest, so a lot of the travel didn't make any sense either. In fact, even the quest that she is about to embark on doesn't make a lot of sense and I think the reasoning for it was just handwaved away. I suppose the author is trying to keep a sense of mystery going, but damn brother, you've got to throw us a bone or we have no investment at all, you know?

Oh yes, and Ayden is a git. I'm glad he is only 50% of a whiney man-baby but really, "clinical depression" and social anxiety? I'm really tired of young characters with mental problems. It's old. Just stop. But hey, at least he has a backbone.

With that said, the bulk of the book still takes place in the forest and is nearly as good as the first book. If you liked the first book, definitely get this one. I'm sure you'll like it. The main character is still awesome and her cat doubly so.

Overall A Good Continuation
