He was a Hero. Now he's not. He'll stop at nothing to rise to the top again.

Max was murdered, but now he is mostly over it. Living on earth as a recent college graduate, he can still perfectly recall his past life on the fantasy world of Albion before that. He'd been hailed as the "Hero of the World" after crawling his way up from poverty, eventually enjoying great fame and luxury.

But on mana-starved Earth, he's just a guy.

However, when Earth is suddenly attacked, changing the natural laws of the world and threatening all life on the planet, Max will get a new opportunity to regain some of his lost power...and then some. He discovers an entire system of multi-dimensional colleges created for those gifted with a Path.

The universe is much larger than Max had even known ever during his first life. Max is not the Hero of Albion anymore, but the drive to excel is still part of his nature. And the more power he has, the easier it should be to save his world.

...Right?

Welcome to this unique twist on isekai fantasy in the next LitRPG Adventure by bestseller Blaise Corvin, author of Delvers LLC and Apocalypse Cultivation.

The narrator is a bit slow, but if you speed it up you get a nicer experience.

The story is good and the MC is quite interesting.

Would recommend 👍

Interesting MC, good flow of the story

I like how the MC isn't a complete and total do gooder trope. He has faults and struggles, but tries to do the best he can. A great book. Really looking forward to book 2. I've already pre-ordered it.

A more believable MC

fresh and different elements, really refreshing listen! can't wait to get through books 2 and 3

loved it.

I really enjoyed listening to this. I rated "story" just 4 stars because there were several narrative switch-ups that seemed to come out of nowhere. I liked all paths presented, but my expectations had been for one flow.when something massively different began happening instead. I'm not saying the story is fragmented. Instead there are sharp zigs and zags in a manner I am unused to. That said I will be starting book 2 momentarily.

Extremely interesting, but with a couple odd choices

Edit: decided to finish book. Ended up getting good enough to finish and probably continue the series. My earlier complaints still hold true though so I will not delete my earlier review.

Honestly I’m only halfway through the book but I’m considering returning because I just can’t get over the things that were done poorly. For one thing this book so far has been more slice of life than action and ends up as an academy story, which basically means it likely won’t be till book 2 that we actually get the story most of us came for. The main issue I have though is the system of distributing “paths” and how the academy is setup to work, the “lifers” in particular. The gods supposedly set this whole thing up to help create and train fighters to fight against evil or what not, but the design is so illogical and clearly rigged towards elitists for so called good gods to have created with good intentions. If this was a story where the gods were playing a game with the mortals lives it would make more sense, but so far that potential plot twist hasn’t even been thought up. Due to the poor design the MC ends up in at least one altercation by the point I reached (not the first one at the academy, that one was a standard academy story trope) that only was a possibility because of the poorly designed system. So basically the author manufactured a struggle for the MC using his own piss poor design. Had the academy system and “path” distribution system been designed in a way that would have actually been more logical and sensible in achieving the gods goals in an efficient manner then that whole altercation wouldn’t have even been possible. Using poor writing to creating struggles for the MC? Yeah I’m out.

Annoyed at first but good enough
