Chloe is #1 in my heart

Kandi has done it again! I devoured this story. This was my first time listening to a narration by Max Lindsey and i was extremely impressed! He fully embodied Will’s grumpiness and performed so, so well. Hannah is one of my favorite narrators and she did not let me down with her performance of Chloe! THE MOMENT WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! There has been so much anticipation for Daddy P’s book. Could it live up to the hype that everyone has been wanting his story? OF COURSE IT COULD WHEN KANDI WRITES IT! We got quite the story with Will and Chloe and I never wanted it to end.

Daddy P, also known as Will Perry, is the Osprey’s goalie. He has been raising his daughter, Ava, by himself after the death of his wife. He is known for being grumpy and never smiling or laughing. After being let down by multiple nannies, he ends up hiring Ava’s teacher, Chloe, to be her nanny. Chloe is the total opposite, very joyful, lights up a room, making the best of each minute. I loved that sweet Ava took after her dad and wasn’t this overly happy child. But she did open up and smile thanks to Chloe. These moments were so precious.

The slow burn… the tension… the moment he finally kisses her. These moments kept me hooked, the way that we Kandi keeps us wanting to more. Kandi outdid herself with the spice in this one! Phew! Will & Chloe balanced each other out and they were really supportive of each other. Their chemistry burned intensely! I love how they had to figure out how to go about everything between Chloe’s importance in Ava’s life and their obvious chemistry but they swore to not be serious. When things start to feel more serious, will Chloe be left hurt or will Will figure his sH!+ out before he ruins it?

The narrators did an outstanding job. I am surprised that I haven’t heard more from them because they really were amazing in the way they took on these roles. Hannah is becoming who I think of now when I think of a Kandi audio and she does such a great job taking on these strong female roles. This was my first from Max and I loved it. He was a good manly tough Will Perry.

Learn Your Lesson is LOADED with the best tropes and Kandi writes it in such an original way. It’s one of the EASIEST 5 star ratings I’ve given out, and I’m still swooning over Chloe and Will.

I am Chloe. Chloe is me. It’s so comforting and refreshing when a character has the same exact nervous ticks that you do. It makes you feel so seen, and shows that sometimes your biggest insecurities are what others love the most about you. They make you YOU. I’ll forever love Kandi for always having her MMCs express that. The WAY he loves her is just 🥹🙌🏻

Ava owns a little piece of my heart. She was the PERFECT piece to Chloe and Will’s story and I loved seeing her and Will both grow and heal, alongside with their evolving relationships with Chloe. They all fell so seemlessly together, but each separate relationship was so developed. It felt so real and BEAUTIFUL 🥹

And WILL PERRY 😮‍💨 that mountain of a MAN. First off, the SPICE?! KANDI?! In my humble opinion, this is by FAR Kandi’s spiciest book. Some of these scenes will be living in my head for the foreseeable future 🥵
Even though this spicy as HELL, I loved how much you could feel the connection between Chloe and Will in every single one of those scenes.

They truly were just pulled to each other. Every moment between them flew off the pages. They had so much depth, while also just being so FUN. The banter is top tier. Chloe and Will are the new standard for not only “grumpy/sunshine”, but for every single one of the tropes listed at the beginning 🙌🏻 utterly OBSESSED with them.

Hannah Chiclana and Max Lindsey killed the narration! I could feel every emotion!

Magical, heartwarming and 🌶️ as 🔥!!

Indeed. Chloe and Will’s love story is ✨magical✨ (with a verrrrry naughty spin to it 😎🌶️).

I absolutely loved the development of both main characters. It was natural, fluid, organic. Will and Chloe fit together like 2 puzzle pieces, and slowly gave each other the confidence to break through the walls they had boxed themselves in, and be who they truly are. And Ava, Will’s daughter, was the sweetest little link between them ❤️

Lots of fun banter, tangible tension and amazing side characters (including 3 “adorable” cats 🤣🐈🐈🐈)

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this 🎧audiobook🎧. Both Hannah Chiclana and Max Lindsey are impressive in their duet performance, and their voices are so SO sexy 😩😩😩 I literally can not imagine this any other way. Absolute perfection!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My heart!!!

My heart is so, so full! Daddy P got the story he deserved! The newest characters are so incredible and I loved seeing some of the characters we already know. This group of people are so well-rounded and I just felt like I wanted to be all of their friends.
The perfect amount of spice, tension, and mushiness! ❤️

Will & Chloe

I loved Daddy P! To be fair, he was a bit of a jerk the way he took Chloe for granted, but he redeemed himself in the end.

This book had all my favorite tropes; single dad / nanny, grumpy/Sunshine, age gap, etc. The spice was spicing and the narration was on point! I think this was my favorite of the series so far, but I'm definitely looking forward to the next one after that teaser!

These narrators absolutely killed this audio performance!! It was so fun listening along while I was reading my eArc! I loved the story but the narrators really brought it to life. All the emotions, the laughs, Ava’s character, and um… the spicy scenes… 🤭

Completely addicting!

I was sooo lucky to get an ebook and audiobook to read this one and omg highly recommend reading with both just brought the experience to another level! The dual narration was absolutely INCREDIBLE. And they embodied those characters amazingly! I could not get enough and did not want to put it down!!

Let me just say, anytime I have a popsicle now, it’s going to make me think of this book and not going to leave me cooled off. This book was STEAMY. Like wow. I was here for it! Chloe and Will had crazy chemistry. Off the charts! I devoured their interactions.

I seriously loved Will and Chloe. Both had their own struggles, I loved how it all came together and what became of it when he started giving her lessons 😮‍💨, but I also loved how Chloe was able to open Will and Ava up. It was beautiful and heartwarming and parts had me tearing up and others swooning and then more often than not fanning myself 😅 it was such a great read!

And then all the other characters as well, I love them all! This was my first in their series and I can tell you with full certainty this can be read as a standalone. It didn’t make me feel like I had missed things, just intrigued to want to read the first 2! Which I’m excited to do! And I’m excited for the next one!!! Literally had the biggest grin finding out what it would entail!

Story overview:
I wish my notes would make sense to anyone but me because if that was a possibilities I’d share the HUGE list I wrote while listening.

Some examples: sweatpants jump rope, pickles and lemons, popsicle, warm up humps, Disney daddy, Alex’s quote about putting shit on pillows. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I absolutely ADORED this book and everything about it. Kandi is THE MOST descriptive writer I’ve seen in a long time, effortlessly painting the story and scenes in my minds eye with her words. Learn Your Lesson has absolutely wonderful characters that you will not be able to resist falling in love with! Chef Patel was a character we didn’t know we needed, and a perfect compliment to keep things light and fun! Also, holy hell was that a good first kiss and some fantastic spice! (Fans face 🪭)

Will was a broke man, self proclaimed “emotionally stunted…warm as an ice cube”, crippled and calloused by grief and just “doing his best” as a single dad. I heard flavors of that relatable “mom guilt” in his story at times trying to be the best on the ice as a leader and a goalie, and while at home caring for sweet, sweet Ava. He’s the biggest pile of putty for Chloe and I loved the way he adored her and made her feel his love. (Daddy P. For life!)

Chloe is Ava’s teacher and the shining, bright, positive light they’ve been missing. She loves her cats and crafts, and brings out the best in Will and Ava.

Audio performance review:
Max and Hannah were new to me narrators and boy were they great! Both securely placed on my top ten narrator shelf!

Both had fantastic range and voices which easily distinguished between the characters, wonderful pacing, tone, and cadence! Hannah’s snorts in this story made me giggle every time! Loved em. Max and Hannah were a perfect compliment to the story and I can’t wait to hear more of their work!

Hockey, grumpy/sunshine, single dad! SO GOOD!

I love all things hockey, grumpy/sunshine, single dad romances, and Kandi Steiner so it's no surprise to anyone that I loved Learn Your Lesson!

Will Perry aka Daddy P is the one I've been waiting for. Broody goalie, single dad, and a heart of gold. He needed the right girl to crack his hard exterior and Chloe was the perfect girl for him. Who is better for this grumpy guy than a human in sunshine form, a kindergarten teacher who is sweet as can be and amazing with his daughter. That's Chloe Knott.

I'll be honest, even more than I loved Will and Chloe together, I loved seeing Chloe with his daughter Ava. Making them both smile and just lighting up their world. It made me smile so big. As hesitant and Will was to start anything with Chloe, she felt the same way due to her mom and grandma (the manhaters lol) and her relationship with Ava. As not only her teacher, but her nanny.

Will and Chloe have an undeniable connection and chemistry that's off the charts. But navigating what to do with it (aside from the obvious) is the issue. I will say, I loved the way it ended and was so happy with how everything turned out. Even if there were some turbulent times getting there.

The narration with this book is amazing! The two narrators were new to me, but did a great job voicing Will and Chloe. The emotion they evoked brought a while new level to the book. Out of the three 'Kings of the Ice' books out so far, this is my favorite! After getting that little teaser for the next book... eek! I can't wait!
