Poignant Story, Incredible Writing

LJ Shen writes about amazing women. Through her incredible talent she takes us on a journey. This journey is about the heroines self discovery of her past, present and future. And even though some or most of us could not personally relate, the heroine is just that, any one of us. Flawed, broken, feeling less, and being defined and becoming - that person. It’s an emotional experience to go on one of Shen’s characters journeys. It’s exciting, funny, passionate, can be angsty, and at times very painful. But in the end there is a calmness and happiness that just feels right.

At the same time it would not be a romance without an amazing male character. And Shen hasn’t written so many of my favorites I’ve lost count! Ransom is no exception to the alpha, beautiful, supposedly non emotional male that we all love and love to hate him. But his journey also is plagued with a difficult past that haunts and limits who he will allow himself to be.

Two characters ready to ignite, yes in the best way.

I love all of LJ shen's books. This is no exception. It's a very sweet love tale with some interesting characters and a pretty strong background story. I always enjoy a slow burn. This one kept you waiting, with baited breath, for these two characters to fall into each other. The performances are spectacular, as always. Who wouldn't let Sebastian York read the phone book or encyclopedia to them? I've enjoyed watching Shen develop and mature as a writer. This is another really great read from her. I highly recommend it..

Hallie brat rich girl living the California dream mean bodyguard trying to teach her to change her ways. Their encounters are funny. Hallie's acting out may have something to do with the way her family treats her.

Random and the Princess

While not my favorite LJ Shen book, I did enjoy listening to this. I read the book first before listening. I thought Hallie was pretty funny and Ransom, well he was a d!ck until he wasn’t.
