Yet another satisfying Middle Falls book
Another awesome narrator, as always.
I'm always surprised by how much these light comfy books make me think afterwards. Effie dealt with some heavy stuff in her life, and I found myself cheering for her and cursing the antagonists often. I like that Effie is more decisive than some of the previous characters--she may have had a bit of a slow start in self-advocating, but she didn't put up with the painful situations as long as I was worried she would. She tried out different paths, and eventually found her way.
I especially liked the little peek into the publishing industry, all of the little cameos from previous residents of Middle Falls, and the representation of people dealing with eating disorders.

always love a middle falls time travel story
I've listened to each audio book of this series. this did not disappoint. the only thing that grated on my nerves was the narrators cartoony wimpy voice. it seemed intentional at the beginning when she was wimpy but as her character evolved her voice could have, too.

Another female lead! Love it.
I see some people have missed the importance of what happened to Effie and her growth throughout many lifetimes. Marriage, family, and success for women is different and I think this book captures the essence of the non-stop pressures of being a female in modern day society. So, thank you Shawn for bringing Effie to light the way for so many women who struggle with defining happiness without sacrificing her mind, body, and spirit.
