Publisher's summary

Imagine "Back To The Future" entwined with the havoc-wreaking presence of an alien invader and the storytelling finesse reminiscent of John Scalzi or Octavia Butler.

What fun is time travel when there’s a shape-shifting alien trying to kill you, your best friend is a ghost, and you can’t seem to escape even yourself for long? One man sees the future; another is trying to destroy it.

After a brush with death at the tender age of nine, Faer Michelson has a near-perfect autobiographical memory. He has a good life, loving wife, and he's only mildly concerned about Y2K. Sure, no one else remembers Bobby Kennedy was president or that time an alien took over the TV to declare war, but what's that in the grand scheme of things? Then one day Faer remembers something that he can't shrug off: his own death in 1968.

It turns out, the Time Warp isn't just a song in Rocky Horror. Faer finds himself stranded in the past with a shape-shifting alien and an apparition of his best friend. An unearthly decree is made before Faer can sort out how to get home: save yourself, then save the world.

It's confusing

I have no issues with the narrator. I think he did a good job. The story itself is really confusing to me. **Spoilers** The way, Hope says you're no longer yourself, and then they sent whites off to live the rest of his life kind of in hiding? Never to see his family again? then he seemed like he was okay with that. When Fear gave him some money he was just like 'Are you sure?'. seems like he would have been asking wait. I'm never allowed to see my family again? I'm just really confused. I'll listen to the end of the book and hope that they explain it, but I would love if somebody could find me on Facebook. message me and explain this to me. LOL

Convoluted but Just Okay

Too many names and the story jumped around too much for me to enjoy. The narration was excellent. Normally, I love time travel but the lizard alien was just silly to me.

HIS time travel explained...it's GOOD

I liked it! Not really a time travel book, as much as him jumping around in time to save his future. Pretty cool concept and even cooler reason behind the time travel. I won't give it away. I'll definitely need to re listen so I can get the things I missed. Yep, that kind of book. So many levels to this, you will want to read it over and over.
I listened to the audiobook version of this and it's my first for this narrator. Teddy Martin did an outstanding job of telling this story. Unlike some narrators who simply read the book, Teddy made me believe the characters were real.
I highly recommend this audiobook/book.

Fantastic book and narration.

This book is fantastic! I loved the story and intend on listening again. The detail for each voice, the narrator did so perfect. Not only did I feel like I was part of the door, but thar I knew each character so well. Small nuances were perfectly found for each voice and made the story come alive. Hoping for a 2nd book very soon!

5 Stars!

A Tear In Time is a wonderful take on the concept of time travel with a unique plot that truly encompasses the development of the main character. You feel as if the author is painting her imagination infront of you and the narrator fills in the details and colors with his emotions beautifully! This dynamic duo of her words and his voice portray this one of a kind story in the light it deserves to be shone. I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who is looking to try something new!

Wonderful take on time travel

I really enjoyed this book. It brings in the larger implications of multi-verse possibilities, and even some possible explanations for the mandela effected among us. Good stuff
