Story
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

Publisher's Summary
The past haunts him. Now he must face it.
When postal worker Martin Briar is invited to partake in a secret time travel opportunity, he jumps at the chance to leave his dull life and step into the past. But he also has his own motivation for going back in time: the disappearance of his 12-year-old daughter two decades ago.
Traveling to Denver in 1996 to investigate, he finds the world brimming with a different vibe: fewer skyscrapers, laid back people, a return to the life he once knew - a city on the verge of explosive growth. At first, Martin welcomes the trip down memory lane, but when he falls in love with a woman he met in the past, he must choose whether to continue the pursuit of his long-lost daughter, or finally let her go and start a brand new life.

Doesn't make sense
You can travel forward or backward in time with almost no restrictions but the obvious paradoxes that'd result aren't explained.
The story is written from the viewpoint of its time traveling main character Martin. That viewpoint includes the time and place that he is living in. Events unfold from his point of view as if they were fixed once they happened. For instance, there's an attempt by him to stop certain bad things that happened in his past, but he is unable to directly stop one such event by a mysterious force that is never explained. He watches another horrible event unfold in front of him but makes no attempt to go back and change it again, content to know he did nothing except learn what happened. Causality would have been violated in both cases since the character would be altering his own memories and his own life preventing him from possibly going back to stop the things he was trying to stop.
Are there alternate universes he would travel to when changing the past? That would be one way to explain away causality issues. Nope, there's no hint of that or any other explanation. Also, there are other time travelers from the future and from the past who also have their own perspective of what happened or will happen and yet things do not remain fixed for them - somehow only Martin's perspective matters. We're told that the future isn't fixed and that some characters go forward to see what will happen to help make decisions but at what point does one character's fixed past and another character's hazy future coalescent to something that actually happens? That's never explained either.
There are other reasons not to like this book series including a very gruesome torture / murder scene in one of the later books. The graphic description adds nothing to the book and seems to be there for gratuitous reasons only.
Also in a later book there's a gigantic 4,000 death terrorist event that just happened with little consequence but a smaller 17 death terrorist event leads to very big outcomes.
I'm giving up and not finishing the 5th and 6th books in the series because I've given up thinking that things will be explained rationally.
Do yourself a favor and skip reading these books.

Too Dark
I love time travel books. They are my "go to" many times when browsing. I wanted to really like this series as the boxset is 25 hours and I drive many hours on the road. This series left me too worried and anxious about what was going to happen to the main character, and depressing because sad things kept happening. I don't always have to have "happily ever after" books, but this one left me totally down in the dumps after the first book was over. I started the second book and decided I had to return the title and get another more uplifting book to read. The narrator wasn't bad like others stated, I just didn't like the dark content and the story never seemed to make me feel happy or satisfied about anything.

Disappointed
I’m a sucker for a good time travel story. Unfortunately, this isn’t one. So many inconsistencies. No rhyme or reason why anything works the way it does. No explanations for anything. The story goes nowhere, and it’s impossible to care about any of the characters. And the narration was horrible. The narrator spoke in a monotone so you couldn’t tell any of the characters apart, and he was very nasally. I just wanted him to blow his nose. Finishing these books was a chore, I only finished them hoping for some redemption somewhere, but it never came.

Sloppy, uninspired, generic, just not great
First off, the narrator was extremely off. His cadence was really bad, like he was struggling to read or something. Every conversation in the series feels awkward and without finesse. Nothing seems to fit and the characters are clunky. The premise is intriguing, but it's very mishandled. I have always given good reviews of books I enjoyed and just ignored ones I didn't. But this was bad enough that I felt compelled to comment. A huge miss for me.

Worst excuse for a piece of published writing ever
I only wish I could give this book a negative number. A one is way too generous. How on earth did this hack ever get published? I have read much better from sophomores in high school. It's derivative, poorly researched, poorly thought out and filled with stupid characters who have no depth, no intellectual abilities, and no emotional intelligence. How could anyone who knows anything about humanity think for a moment that anyone would ever care about what happens to such hapless fools. If I could get my credit back - heck if I could get the time I wasted listening to this back - I would.

Save Yourself!
I normally don't do reviews, but I felt it was my responsibility to try to save future readers from the pain and heartache that will invariably strike you down should you proceed to purchase this disaster.
I really wanted it to be a great story, but alas, Stephen King already wrote one called 11/22/63.
this hack was a shameless ripoff of a great story and looks like it was written as a sophomore composition assignment. Not College, High School.
the story has so many holes in the plot that it's almost painful to follow.
there is no flow, and it appears that the author was just phoning it in.
Let's talk about the narration. Oh my God! the reading sounded like it was done by a High School Student that had been pushed forward to each new grade because the teachers didn't want to deal with him. His performance was choppy and uninteresting. the pauses had no discernable cadence, and it sounded like he was trying to perform a group hypnotism at a child's birthday party. I wish I could unhear everything I forced myself to listen to.
save you money or your credits and place the Author and narrator on your do not purchase list.
ignore this review at your own peril.

Simply Terrible
The book is super inconsistent the time travel rules change throughout the book there’s no rhyme or reason for things that happened. The story crates large problem’s that time travel could easily solve and are treated as oh well there’s nothing we can do about that guess we just need to move on. Past, Present and future times are treated as concurrent the whole thing just felt like a 12 year old wrote it or an AI that has no idea how real people talk. The book definitely did not go through any type of review process before it was released because there’s no way that anybody would have missed some of the ridiculous problems with the story. I knew I should’ve stopped after the first book but I felt like maybe something was going to develop because the first three books were sold as a set but that never happened I need that 15 hours of my life back.

A really good soporific
The premise of the book started out really well but was spoiled by the very poor characters who were pretty much two dimensional. The story was anodyne and it could have been great. It did help me get to sleep though.
