Publisher's summary

What would you do if there weren't any consequences?

After 20 years on the force, Detective Chief Inspector Jack Logan thinks he has seen it all.

He is wrong.

When a nurse is murdered on her way home from nightshift, Jack and his team go on the hunt for her killer.

As more victims are uncovered, Jack finds himself tracking a murderer afflicted by a unique psychosis - one that leaves him free to maim and kill without a shred of remorse.

Facing a new type of killer in an unfamiliar city, DCI Jack Logan is about to be pushed to his limits, before being forced to realize just how little he truly knows.

The Killing Code is the third DCI Jack Logan crime thriller, and perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, Chris Brookmyre, and LJ Ross.

Great narration

I bought my first JD Kirk audibles in a 2/1 sale a while ago and got the first 2 Logan and Hoon books. I should have read them sooner. These are such great rides. Worth the credits. I’ve bought the entire series.

Dear JD Kirk - Please Write Fast ~ !

Holy Moose - what a fantastic writer enhanced by an amazing performer. Simply thrilled to have a new series (to me) to follow. I listened to the books back-to-back and cannot wait for #4. Great characters, great pace, just enough humor. Simply excellent.

Still on a roll.....

4.25 Stars 🌟

The third book in and I'm still interested. DCI Logan has relocated to a new station that is supposed to be a smaller and quieter locale from where he just left. Unfortunately, no one told that to the serial killers. This book deals with a serial killer who believes that we basically live "in the Matrix". Of course, it makes more sense than what I'm saying here, but on the other hand, truly, does any killer's reasons make sense? Nope, but it was interesting.

The book was interesting, I definitely enjoyed the narration by Angus King and I am beginning to really like DCI Jack Logan and all of his quirks.

It feels like he is finally settling in with his new team and I have a feeling that they all have a lot to teach each other.

I'm on board to keep moving forward through book after book......

Mysterious from the beginning!

Listening to this book was pure pleasure for me having visited Glasgow in recent years. I love hearing the Scottish brogue of the characters and hearing expressions I am familiar with thanks to my Scottish grandmother. The narrator was excellent and although there were many characters he made it easy to differentiate among them all. As for the plot--it is a grisly series of murders, and there is plenty of detail, but not as disturbing as some I have read. Still, it is not for the squeamish listener/reader. The story moves along at a brisk pace and it was hard to pause to attend to necessary activities. This author is new to me so I plan to read Books 1 and 2. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a top rate murder mystery.

Pretty Good

Good build up. Nothing special but worth a listen. Some of the other reviews said it was to gory, but I don't see it.

Keeps me on the edge of my seat!

If you like edgy crime stories this series will grip you. These are not your cosy crimes they are for readers who aren’t afraid of darker details of crime. Not something for tea and shortbread - more a glass of scotch and sharp cheese and a hunk of rustic bread. Well written and compelling. Perfectly topped with a great voice performance! Can’t wait for the next installment.
