Ethan didn’t believe in magical swords until one transported him to a fantasy world.

A world with monsters, martial arts guilds, and elemental powers beyond imagining.

In fact, it’s almost like he died and went to heaven. If heaven contained rivals bent on killing him, elf tutors who want to bed him, and a feisty spearmaiden with something to prove.

Contains harem elements.

Jim Butcher, Scott Meyer, intriguing. One note: I continue to dislike how Proczko pronounces "fiyur."

This story was great! I love the development of the magic system. If you like swords, magic, and fighting you should give this book a listen.

Great start to a series!

Not one to write reviews, but I would recommend this to my friends and family.

I mean I am not against a person(character) being too honoured but In this book its not suitable at all and their are too many flaws with the book and the story...it lacks depth and at few points it becomes cringy(at least for me)..you can enjoy this book of you are into the sort of children stories (excluding the sex in the book). but I highly recommend not to waste your money/credit on this.

MC is just too upright and with too much honour

Ethan, an employee of Running Blade Security, is on his first solo mission. He is tasked with infiltrating the research project of a foreign government that is looking into ancient magic, of all things. From the moment Ethan gains entrance to a temple on the side of a mountain in the Himalayas, things begin to get strange. There is a time traveling orb, a magical sword that shoots fire, a disembodied dragon familiar and ninjas.

In the course of the battle with the ninjas, Ethan finds himself transported to another reality. Somehow, the act of traveling to the new world separates him from the sword and the familiar. In this new world, besides humans, we find it contains all kinds of beings from fantasy and lore. Ethan is soon approached by an old man who recognizes Ethan to be the augmenter he has been waiting for. The old man offers to take Ethan on as a member of his clan and teach him to become the Immortal Swordslinger, which he gives a very insufficient explanation as to what that is. Soon Ethan's motivations change from wanting to find a way to get home to wanting to learn how to grow stronger as an augmenter.

"Immortal Swordslinger" successfully mixes together Chinese cultivation fantasy and LITRPG genre elements to make what I felt should have been a great story. Unfortunately, this story is not great. It is good, but for me, something is lacking about it that keeps it from being great. It is enjoyable and worth your money. I was definitely into the story enough to get book two, which is now available, but for some reason, the story just didn't have that certain something to make me give it my highest recommendation.
