Rosalie must find a suitable husband, and the answer to her family’s prayers arrives in form of Julian Wareham, the Marquess of Oakham. He is charming, witty, highly regarded by London society, and no girl - Rosalie included - can resist his striking blue eyes.

Great Regency Romance and Mystery

I enjoyed listening to this Regency audiobook. The story is as much a mystery as it is a romance. Rosalie Curtis is a fantastic heroine, believing that love is more important than wealth or social standing. That perspective is not the norm in Regency England which may explain why she has not garnered a husband in two seasons in London. When her aunt steps in to help, she meets both a well-heeled Marquess and a noble, but maligned man. She finds herself drawn to Peter, but he keeps secrets that could destroy her reputation and future with a scandal. The book paints a good picture of the rigid society of the ton and the ease with which a woman's future may be destroyed by keeping the wrong company. Rosalie has to choose between the grand, but distant Marquess and the gentlemanly, but disgraced Peter. She finds out surprising facts about both men that will determine her future. She must choose carefully, as her future happiness depends on it.

The narration was good, with distinct voices and personalities for all the characters. The delivery was smooth and well-paced.

A Quintessential Regency Romance

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

If you are a Regency Romance lover, you'll certainly find this book enjoyable. The Mysterious Rogue is just that, a handsome, enigmatic, selfless gentleman. Of course we know how the tale will end right from the beginning of the love story, but what happens in between the unusual start and the happily ever after ending, makes the story much more interesting. I particularly liked the young daughter's character with her overwhelming need to be loved by a mother figure. That in fact was the only aspect that left me a little confused, since she had a natural mother who apparently loved and cared for her. I can understand the unwillingness to marry her rescuer, but you would think that she would want to share her daughter's life. I guess maybe that was the way in Regency's England...
The narration was really great and most pleasant as was the writing. Nice book when you're in the mood for clean romance and a little mystery.

An Enjoyable Listen

Rosalie Curtis returns home after her second failed London season to a disappointed mother and an angry father. When an estranged aunt offers to let Rosalie live with her in London, Rosalie agrees, hoping to find a man that sparks her interest. In London she meets Peter Farrell and his precocious daughter Abigail, and Rosalie is immediately attracted to the kind man. But he's hiding the truth about his past, and when the Marquess of Oakham begins to court Rosalie, she's torn between the two men.

I enjoyed this sweet romance with a bit of mystery. It's a clean read with no cliffhanger. My favorite character was, of course, Lady Lynch, the old schemer. I enjoyed the relationship between the sisters, and as an older sister I think the author really pegged that sometimes tempestuous relationship. Rosalie's a strong woman who knows her own mind and doesn't let the opinion of others sway her, I thought she was a great heroine.

The narration was really well done, with distinct voices and a performance that brought me into the story. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. I'm keeping an eye out for the sequel!

Fall into a Victorian romance

This audio book was all I dreamed of. Truly a romance to fall into transporting you back to a place of beauty and elegance in Victorian England. Rosalie was a heroine that takes your heart on a pre matrimonial trip. The narrator did a bang up job. Bravo Rosie Wynter on a great book and listen.

Clean, Endearing, and a Twist

This is the first book by Rosie Wynter that I have listened to and I fully enjoyed it. I loved the twist the author wrote in the book. Without giving away too much of a spoiler, an almost spinster must choose between love and duty. Society and family put so much pressure on young women in regency times, yet bookish (wallflowers) women could go unobserved. I loved the Aunt in this book and the sisters were so close. The narration was wonderful. Marian Hussey does Regency so well with her distinguished characters and proper expressions. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to the author and narrator again.

Fun Twist in Regency Romance

This was such a fun twist at a regency romance. I absolutely loved it. The story has a uniqueness to it and even a little mystery to keep you intrigued. Definitely a story that I could listen to again and again. I love that it was a clean romance enough that I could let my middle school aged daughter listen to without worry.

Nice Twisted Love Story

I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. What happens when you are doomed to possible spinsterhood after two seasons in London society? Well, your long time estranged aunt comes and gets you after receiving a letter written while your father has had one too many glasses of brandy. That is just the beginning of the many twists that occur in this tale. You meet the love of your life but he is not the one who proposes because he has hidden things in his past that society does not like because he refuses to tell them what his business is. Do they get together? This is a story worth listening to so you can find out. The narrator will not bore you.
