Publisher's summary

He has a vice as bad as her father.

Jennie Arnsby wants nothing more than to turn around and go home. Her family is on their way to Deadwood, South Dakota, when Aiden finds his way to their small wagon train. His teasing and banter leave her wanting to toss him out the back and in the dust. When they are separated outside the city, she is left wondering if she'll ever see him again.

Aiden Bradly wants to find his gold and return home. Nothing more. He can't afford to get tangled with a woman. He's doing just that until he meets the feisty Jennie. She gets him thinking about his past and forgiveness, but what's more important, his past or his new future?

Aiden will either redeem his past or claim a treasure greater than he could ever imagine, but he must choose one.

Sweet western romance

Two stubborn hearts wrestle with each other and try to push away from a love that is obvious to everyone around them. I enjoyed listening to the unabridged audio book version from audible. It sure made housework more enjoyable. I have to admit that toward the last several chapters I was actually searching for extra things I could do so as to have more time to listen!

These characters have great chemistry and I especially enjoyed the banter. I laughed out loud several times and found myself talking to the characters more than once wishing they could only hear me and straighten up!

If you are looking for a sweet, yet fun western romance, then do yourself a favor and snag a copy of Dreams in Deadwood by Kari Trumbo. It is sure to keep you turning pages laughing, and sighing with contentment.

Fun sweet western romance...

Book one in the Seven Brides of South Dakota Series, Dreams in Deadwood, by Kari Trumbo, is an excellent sweet inspirational western romance that readers will absolutely fall in love with. From the very beginning of the novel, the characters come to life off the pages and readers will come to know and love them. Trumbo’s excellent storytelling and rich western theme will keep the attention of readers from the first page all the way to the very end of the story. Through overcoming the struggles of living in the west, as well as battles of the heart, Trumbo touches the hearts of and inspires her readers. Although some of the dialogue in the story is a little flat, the story, hero, heroin, and sweet romance will keep readers engaged. This is a story that readers of sweet western romance will definitely enjoy.

In the Audible audio version of the Dreams in Deadwood, the narrator does an excellent job of bringing to the life the story and the voices of the different characters, making this already fun and enjoyable story a pleasant listen.

A great, Old West Christian romance

This author has created a great story set in the time of settlors expanding into the western part of the United States. Following the miners who had hoped to strike it rich, this group set out to find a fulfilment of the dreams of wide-open space and a place to live and love. This is the first book in the series of this group of sisters. Some of them want to be part of the adventure and others would have rather just stayed where they were. A love story that is easy to enjoy and makes you want to continue reading the series to find out what happens to the other sisters.

Clean and sweet pioneer time romance

This was a wonderful clean romance set in the pioneer era. The author did a great job with the plot line and I was pulled into the story pretty quickly. I loved that it wasn't an overly fluffy romance, it was true to the time period and life, in that life isn't all sunshine and roses, which made the story more believable. I felt Maghan Kelly did a wonderful job with the narration, she was easy to listen to.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Sweet Ole’ West Story

I think Dreams in Deadwood, Book 1, was very sweet. Some of the plot became predictive and the main character was naive enough (as in sure was normal for the time) that it drove me a little crazy, but overall the plot and characters were good. Meghan Kelly did a fantastic job with the narration and it was fairly easy to figure out who was talking with the voice inflections.

Sweet Story!

I enjoyed this standalone listen by Kari Trumbo. The narration by Meghan Kelly was spot one. She performs various characters with distinguishable voices. The author wrote great imagery in this book. The descriptions were so well done that I could visualize so much. This was time well spent listening. I would definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Deadwood finally becomes home.

Jenny, the second oldest of8 sisters comes to Deadwood South Dakota by wagons in the 1800’s. The oldest sister Ruby and her husband are caring for all the girls. This story is of Jenny maturing and realizing what is really important. She also comes to realize home is where family is not necessarily a place. She met Aiden when he joined their wagons along the trail. He had his own demons and regrets. They finally figured their future out. As the name of the series is 7brides of Deadwood we can surmise that over time we’ll get the rest of the stories. There are little hints of what is to come but not really cliffhangers. This is a good book and the narration is great. Clean read. I would recommend this.
