Publisher's summary

It's almost Christmas in the small English village of Finch - and everyone is sick. Although many of the villagers regretfully decline their invitations to Emma and Derek Harris' annual Christmas bash, Lori Shepherd has no intention of missing it. When the winter weather takes a turn for the worse, it's agreed that none of the guests will leave until morning. There's general merriment as the Christmas party becomes a pajama party - until a car appears in the winding driveway and promptly slides off the slick pavement and into a tree.

Matilda Tilly Trout - a lost and scatterbrained middle-aged woman - is mercifully unhurt and invited to stay the night. The next morning, Emma asks her guests if they would like a tour of the Manor - including a secret room she recently discovered. Several guests put forth guesses as to its purpose, but it's Tilly who correctly identifies the room as a chapel. Placing a palm on one of the ornately carved panels, Tilly finds a hidden compartment concealing a pile of glittering treasure - including an exquisitely decorated heart made of solid gold. Where did it come from, and why does it look so different from everything else in the chapel? Why didn't Emma even know about this hidden compartment in her own home until now - and how did Tilly?

Delightful cozy mystery

The characters quickly wriggled their way into my heart and mind, and stayed there throughout the story and long after. So much so that I immediately ordered the first two books in the series. This is a stand alone mystery but I am now thoroughly vested in their lives. It is quite obvious that the author is as well as her craftsmanship in developing each one is deeply inspiring. No graphic violence or detailed sexual encounters, so it is appropriate for all ages. I now have a new cherished author to follow and collect her series. Highly recommended! Great fun and very engaging!

Another winner

These books are filled with love, laughter, true friendships, and most of all a message of hope for all. The premise is sort of strange but the stories are true gold. Thanks Nancy

loved it

as usual, I loved this "Aunt Dimity" installation. Nancy Atherton's story is an interesting, light heart mystery with no murders or gore and plenty of close friendships and small town gossip. Just a fun read that always leaves me smiling. ☺️

Didn’t care for the new narrator. I will be downloading the ebook, however so I won’t miss anything. Love aunt Dimity. So much fun.
