As one of her final projects, Audrey Hepburn left the world a treasure in this collection of exquisitely told fairy tales, familiar and unfamiliar, inspired and accompanied by Ravel's Mother Goose Suite. Audrey Hepburn's Enchanted Tales features Mary Sheldon's fresh adaptations of Sleeping Beauty, Tom Thumb, Beauty and the Beast, and Laidronette, Empress of the Pagodes. The selections are woven together by fictional interludes.

Audrey Hepburn's final performance is her finest.

I was 5 when Audrey Hepburn died, and I didn't get to hear her read this until I was an adult, but I find myself just as enchanted by her telling of these tales now as I would have been as a child. When I have trouble sleeping, I put this on and her voice always calms me, which does the trick and sometimes I even dream the stories. That's how talented Audrey was; she could make them real.

Nostalgic and fantastic

I listened to this on cassette for hours and hours as a kid. It gave me a love for classical music and helped boost my imagination. Now I get to play it for my kids!

For Audrey Hepburn enthusiasts

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This book is for people like me who love Audrey Hepburn and are dedicated to watching and/or listening to everything she has ever done. I can't imagine why anyone else would even know about this. If that's not you, you would be much better served to just go watch one of her movies like Roman Holiday, Funny Face, or Breakfast at Tiffany's.

What does Audrey Hepburn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Without Audrey Hepburn this would just be a few classic fairy tales with nice music in the background. Audrey Hepburn brings the stories to life with her sweet voice.
