Gotta Love Ellen

I think that the take away of this book is: live life happy. And, a great way to do that is by laughing. To that end, listen (or read) this book at least 15 minutes a day. It can be your happy meditation time. Because, there's no way you can partake of the book and NOT be amused. It's just that good.

Very enjoyable

Always enjoy Ellen's comedic point of views and her technique of delivery. It helps to laugh at this crazy world.

Can't Imagine It Without Ellen's Reading

If you could sum up Seriously...I'm Kidding in three words, what would they be?

Funny. Lighthearted. Unusual.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I did find the sometimes very short chapters a bit jarring and much more enjoyed when Ellen relayed a full story then just a short random thought that somewhat broke up the enjoyment of the book. Tell stories from your life and funny observations OR just have one page random thoughts and lists, mixing the two was odd.

Which scene was your favorite?

Any time Ellen told a story about her family, her show, etc. was very enjoyable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I can't imagine sitting and reading this book in print. Like Kathy Griffin's book, it gains SO MUCH by hearing the author read it with their own inflections, etc. This works especially well in comedy and you don't have to imagine how Ellen would have delivered a line.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book in audio format. I saw the print version in a store and am glad I skipped it for this one. I would prefer she had not thrown in one page "chapters" that she seems to start and finish in less than a minute, but 75% of the text was very enjoyable.

Classic Ellen

If you enjoy Ellen, you will love the way she reads her book. It is great for a laugh when you need one ;-)

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Would have liked it more if Ellen read the story more like she talks in real life on her show. Sounded too much like reading, not as funny as I expected and I love her humor!!

Thoughtful and Incredibly Funny...Seriously..

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely recommended. Ellen's sense of humor never dissapoints! She's able to seamlessly combine her very real thoughts on life and her charming wit in an infectious way that leaves you wanting more.

What does Ellen DeGeneres bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Not only does she devote a chapter just to making random noises for audible users, but hearing her perform her work in the way she intended makes the book that much more enjoyable!

It certainly made me laugh!!

LOVE IT

Pretty sure Ellen is the queen on the world. I think that this book has an awesome story behind it.

Why even write this book?

The majority of the time it seemed like she was stammering and stalling just to extend the book. A few times I laughed, but overall, pass on this book unless you just want to hear Ellen’s voice as background noise.

Loved this book. While it didn’t have any story line to the book it was lighthearted and funny. Really enjoyed this book.

Not your conventional book!

I'm a bit perplex about this book. Not the average bio book at least. Ellen definitely fun and this book really shows it.
