Publisher's Summary

In their highly anticipated first audiobook, the hilarious mom duo with millions of followers explores all the ridiculous shit you’re expected to do to keep multiple humans alive and happy-ish and celebrates the love for the friends who get you through it.

Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, the creators of #IMomSoHard, are just like you and your best mom friend, only funnier and with more wine. Perhaps you’ve seen one of their insanely popular videos musing on everything from impractical swimsuit fashions to “Things I Found in My Bra”. Or maybe you’ve gone to one of the shows on their sold-out tour, hailed as “monster truck rallies for moms”. Or you might have just taken a break from mom-ing so hard yourself and decided to read some adult words for a few minutes. Did you pour yourself some wine?

This is not a self-help audiobook. Kristin and Jen know you probably didn’t get to shower today and that the last thing you need is advice on all the stuff you’re doing wrong. Instead, Kristin and Jen talk nipple hair, sex after marriage, Mom-bods, and their unhealthy obsession with Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones. #IMomSoHard is packed with the back-and-forth laugh-out-loud best-friend banter that Kristin and Jen are known for, with plenty of real talk about postpartum depression, bullying, and the dark thoughts that plague every mom. Throughout it all, they know the ups and downs of motherhood often have nothing to do with your kids - it’s the female friendships and solidarity you have with other moms that makes it all worthwhile.

#IMomSoHard is like a long, funny, gab session with your best mom friends. Kristin and Jen know 6:00 to 8:00 pm is the worst time to call you. They know not to harass you when you show up to a playdate in a free T-shirt you got from the dentist. They won’t give pep talks, but they will talk you down from the motherhood ledge, because, congrats: You’re passing with a “C” - and that’s all any of us can hope for.

IRelateSoHard

I have been a fan of the #IMomSoHard videos for a couple of years. When I heard they had a book coming out, I was intrigued. I don't usually read nonfiction. I decided to go the audiobook route since it was Jen & Kristen doing the reading.

These ladies are smart, funny, cool, & completely relatable on many different levels, not just the mom stuff. I really enjoyed listening & there were a lot of points that made me think, points that made me tear up, & laugh out loud.

Since I graduated from college, I've lost touch with my friends from school. I'm a quiet, shy person who has trouble making friends. I don't really have any friends outside of work & my work friends are at much different stages in their lives than I am. So, it's nice hearing that other moms struggle with a lot of the same things I do. Thank you, ladies.

Deep convos in lighthearted style

As a psychiatrist and women’s mental health expert, I’m always curious how people talk about mental illness. I’m so impressed with Kristin and Jen- bringing to light real life struggles and emotional pain in such a palatable fun way. And loved the energy and humor throughout of course!

Disappointed. Not as good as I hoped

I really enjoy their YouTube videos but this audiobook didn’t translate that same funniness and joy. It may be because they took turns reading. And their magic in videos is because they are together. And work well off each other.

Laugh out loud kind of book!

Entertaining book for women of all ages. Both ladies are so relatable. I had a hard time pausing between reads.

Did not enjoy it

It was boring. I thought it would be funny, stuff about motherhood. Had no desire to listen to their life stories.

Like the friends you never knew you had

I loved this book. It was such a good book, so funny and so relatable and definitely worth the read. I practically talked to my iPad the entire time the read it because the narration was just that engaging and real. Definitely pick this up if you’re feeling like there’s no moms that relate to you. This book will change that.

#momlife

I enjoyed this book and the perspective from these two moms. Their stories relatable, their message delivery fun, and the way they find the humor in this mom life is necessary for survival.
