Story
Infinite Worlds is the most popular VRMMORPG on the market. Its maps are so vast, developer Hard Rock Data utilizes a network of highly advanced artificial intelligences to control it. But it’s not without problems. That’s why Game Masters like Jeff Driscoll have jobs. The downside? He’s not allowed to play the game. Something about conflicts of interest and favoritism. His very boring and tedious job is to help players deal with the occasional bug that slips through the cracks and ensure they enjoy their time playing enough to give a five-star rating.

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Story
Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

Now, Vincent’s left to pick up the tattered pieces of his humanity as he tries to grow strong enough to keep his family safe. Not every man can handle a magitech gauntlet that speaks in floating silver text, or a handful of women with unique...needs. I’m not every man. When a bad blind date got worse - like, interdimensional lightning storm worse - I woke up to a realm of dragon women, magical kobolds, and a playful monkey girl with a painful secret. I also accidentally (totally on purpose) stole an ancient artifact in the form of a black gauntlet that bonded with my body and unlocked various new abilities. So what’s the catch? The glove wasn’t meant for me. It was meant for the fabled Hero of Silura.

In the beginning, the gods destroyed the world. Five hundred years later, things haven’t gotten much better for humans. The demigods that were left behind to guard over humanity have been using them as fodder for an endless civil war between themselves, and the humans just go on dutifully slaughtering each other, battle after battle. It’s not all bad, though. Perry McGown makes his living off those bloody, stinking battlefields. He works on a crew that reclaims all the spent shell casings. Story
Gabriel Delling might call himself a professional con artist, but when walking superstitions start trying to bite his face off, his charm is shockingly unhelpful. Together with a succubus who insists on constantly saving his life, Gabe desperately tries to survive a new reality that suddenly features demons, legends, and a giant locust named Dale - all of whom pretty much hate his guts. And when an ancient horror comes hunting for a spirit locked in his head, Gabe finds himself faced with the excruciating choice between death...or becoming some kind of freaking hero.

Very good!!
Bought this on a whim for something to listen to while waiting for another book to come out, and so happy I did! Very well done characters flushed out just the right amount to make them all interesting without getting to bogged down in back story. The magic system is VERY well thought out!! Reminds me of the Dresden files with explaining how and why the magic works instead of a generic fireball or lightning spell. 5 stars!!!

Great book, well narrated. 2nd book isnt.
Great book, well narrated. I'm at the beginning of the second book and it's just not hitting the same. I bought this because it's a series but the second book seems weird.

Enjoyable
I wasn't sure what to think of it in the beginning but I grew engrossed in the story as it moved along. I think the story is very interesting so far with a likable main character so I'm continuing on to book 2 to see what happens next.

Very entertaining.
Bought this while waiting for another title to get released. Was pleasantly surprised. If your looking for a semi short book this is a good one.

Wow out of no where this book is amazing
Just buy the damn book you wont be sorry. I humbly believe its as good as The Land and cannot wait to see where Macronomicon takes all his readers on this journey

Awesome awesome awesome!
This book was straight up amazing. The story is so well written, the plot is unconventional and impossible to guess, and this author is the funniest author there is. I've listened to the whole series now and his other series as well and both are my top two favorite series I listened to in 2023. They don't have as epic of world building as Sanderson or JF Brink books but for pure entertainment and pacing that keeps you interested they're above all the rest. I cannot recommend this book and the others from this author enough.

Very steam punk magic
I like the mechanism they interface how magic work. almost like Sanderson work. the story focuses too much on Jed and all other characters feel underdeveloped. where ptsd breakdown, savior complex priest, crazy abuse victim. losing his power was a nice reset. he ability as a magic coder it getting ridiculous.

Entertaining but could've ended better.
I enjoyed the book for the most part and believe the things that I didn't were purely personal preference. The last couple of events with the MC annoyed me but that's about it and I'm sure it will get better as the story continues.
