Some of the players took things too seriously, like they knew something about the game that Noah didn’t. Forced to rely on skills he abandoned a lifetime ago and new digital abilities that resemble ancient magics more than modern code, Noah has to unravel the mysteries behind Asgard’s Fall. And in doing so, discover an ancient threat that has forced a world long hidden from mankind into the light.

Decent Listen

The beginning plot had a great build but it does lag durning the story line. As the plot thickens, it is difficult to follow or know just how many times one can have a certain act cast upon himself. I will say this, given mythology and how gods vanished from the earth or the lack of their intervention, it does put an interesting spin on past events and make one think. However, it has a center focus on the eastern early beliefs and I don’t think it gives enough weight to modern gods given how many contribute worship this strengthening said god. But, who knows! Maybe more of the plot will reveal the modern belief system.

Solid LitRPG centered in folklore across the ages

Really enjoyed this LitRPG. Most other novels centered on mythology will stay within a single supernatural family tree; however, this author has very well answered the challenge of intertwining the folklore from across multiple religious pantheons all while bringing in the core elements of a litRPG. My only minor complaint is the timing/cadence/frequency of retelling the blessing. After a blessing is chosen, the full repeat description of the character sheet within minutes of the last readout can be repetitive at time.
