Rush to the altar befuddles a practical lady!
I first met this character, Amaryllis, in Kirsten Osbourne's book Mail Order Match Maker. She was so matter of fact as she introduced her sisters. Now a grown woman, Amaryllis has given up on the one thing that was whimsical in her life--her love for Alex Anderson. But he's back and determined to have her. This determination leads to a very heated scene that leads to...no spoilers! I'll just say that compromise and forgiveness form the backbone of this romance.
I was impressed by Emma Lysy's matter of fact delivery of the book, including some spots with delightfully dry humor. She has captured Amaryllis' personality with her manner of delivery.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes second chance romances or historical romance. It was well-written and just delightful to read.
