mixed feelings

by the time I finished the book I thought it was good. However, it dragged a it with the daily back and forth emails . I don't think the constant fuck added to the story. otherwise, it is excellent. Depression is a disease many of us deal with and unfortunately there is a stigma. I admire the author for addressing this.

Depression is REAL

I couldn’t love this book more! The author does a great job talking about harsh subjects! The love story is AMAZING but the depression part will help a ton of people! I wish I could give this book 10 stars!! It’s a must read/listen.

A Beautiful Heartfelt Story! Great Narration🎧

OMG, this story is everything, it is gripping and moving like no other. It is the type of book that stays with you for a really long time, maybe even forever. Tracie Podger is a gifted author, you could feel how much heart and raw emotion she put into this beautifully written story. The characters and storylines are realistic and easy to relate to. I adored Jayne, the lead character, I loved her best friend, Carla, too, we all need a friend like her, someone who has your back no matter what. Jayne went thru and put up with so much in her marriage, some may question why did she stay, but many will know why she did and this story is not about that it is about her serving and getting thru the worst times in her life and coming out on top. I despised her husband Michael, I was not a fan of her daughter for most of the story either. Stefan, oh yes I was a fan of him and was rooting for him from the get go but this story shows you life always throws a curve ball your way some time. My heart broke for Jayne and I totally got her despair and depression, the author does a great job keeping it all real. Tracie Podger, thank you for this beautiful story, and for sharing Jayne’s journey, it was gut wrenching at times, not an easy journey but it shows hope and that help is available. BTW, I loved the ending! 🎧📚🎧

I listened to the Audible edition, Kitty Kelly is a talented narrator and voice artist. She brings the characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality as well as heart and attitude. She did a great job portraying the characters, she perfected Jayne’s role, capturing all her emotions emotions and projecting them into her performance, she did the same for all the character, including Stefan handling his role with English as his second language. Ms. Kelly is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen t. Thank you for the great listen🎧

Love always

This book is my go to when I’m sad. Why? Well listening to someone kick depression’s arse is helpful. I love this storyline and highs and lows. The narrator does a great job of conveying the writer’s feelings.

emotional read

Oh my heart, this book made me cry many times, I cried at times when I have no idea why! It also made me giggle too.

The story was so down to earth and real that it can't fail to pull on your heart strings. There were times I wanted to throw my Kindle at a wall because Jane didn't tell dickhead to do one. Her best friend is awesome, and as with best friends that's were most funny moments came from.

Steam, oh yes this book got steamy and I was wooping for Jane and her friend.

I think if I'm honest there must be something in this book that has touched everyone as it covers a great deal of life's trials.

I was completely invested in Jane and her story and highly recommend this book to you.

I actually listened to the Audio book, the story was easy to follow and the narrator did a great job projecting the story and making the characters real.

I love an audio book the only thing I miss is when you pop back and read a page again, but you can rewind but it's not quite the same.

insightful, humorous and heartbreaking. Loved it!

An inspirational story about love and loss...…. This description is spot on!

I finished listening to the audio version of this book and staggered off the very emotional rollercoaster I had been on throughout. But you know what? I absolutely love the buzz of a rollercoaster and there were parts of this story I needed to see written on the page, so I downloaded the ebook, hopped right back on and ended up doing a full reread. That's how much I loved it and whilst reading I could hear the narrators very expressive voice in my head all the way through. She really was excellent.

A Virtual Affair is Jayne's story - from a lonely, loveless marriage to a selfish, cheating husband where she had lost herself under years of neglect, a holiday with her bestie where an unexpected new friend sparks life back into her, to a beautiful cottage in Cornwall that finally feels like home. In between an insightful, humorous, emotional, gutwrenching, heartfelt account of love, hope, friendship, devasting loss and the darkest place a person can reach.

It's a bit eye opening to see some of your own personality traits within a character you are reading, to see some of the mistakes made because you've made them too. That's how real this felt, because I understand and empathise with some of Jayne's experiences, thoughts and feelings as they resonate with me. However I'm equally relieved and thankful for the things that don't! It was pure, raw and real emotion.

My eyes were puffy from tears and my heart felt like it had been through an industrial crusher, but for all the cracks, bruises and bumps it picked up on the way, it came out the other side lighter, happier and healed. The authors real life experiences especially with depression, have given this story a depth, heart and soul that I've not seen very often in a book. It was simply wonderful to read and the humour threaded throughout made me laugh out loud. The thoughts and feelings it has evoked are going to stay with me for a very long time!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would.

Wow

I loved this book and loved it even more being able to hear everyone. Once again, I’ve laughed, cried, and felt a connection. Kent is my home and I’ve been in ‘that place’. It’s heartwarming and fun at the same time. Thank you x
