Publisher's summary

Scott Mullan writes jokes for a living. He is a loving husband and a devoted dad, but with a looming milestone birthday and a career that has stalled, he is searching for something new. Something exciting. Not a Corvette.

When he’s introduced to the teachings of Ben Doss, a dynamic self-help guru, Scott discovers an alternative way of seeing the world around him. So begins his secret life of strange rituals and questionable hygiene.

It’s all fun and games until he’s arrested and his world starts falling apart.

Engaging with more than a few chuckles and a couple of guffaws.

I really enjoyed this book, despite the fact that it’s way outside my normal genre preference. I related to the protagonist, but also found myself rolling my eyes at his familiar innocent idiocy. The story is never dull, consistently engaging and altogether charming. If you like light-hearted personal explorations, this will be a delightful read for you. If personal journeys are not your thing, I think you’ll still enjoy the humorous tone and breezy style of the writer.
