Publisher's Summary

The biggest thing to happen to Skary, Indiana, is renowned horror novelist Wolfe Boone, or "Boo" as the locals fondly call him. For the past 16 years, the reclusive writer has been the town's greatest attraction, having unintentionally turned the once struggling Skary into a thriving tourist trap for the dark side.

But when a newly reformed Wolfe suddenly quits the genre and subsequently starts to pursue Skary's favorite girl-next-door, Ainsley Parker, the little town becomes truly horrified. Soon, a scheme is plotted to put the fright back into Skary and get their most famous resident out of love and back into the thrill business.

Filled with humor, small town charm, and a gentle message of enduring faith, BOO shows how even the most colorful group of busybodies and hypocrites can become a community changed forever by God.

Hooray for Boo! Listen to the entire Boo Series.

Boo is a blast!

It's so fun to enjoy listening to a clever little story about small town life. (think Andy Griffith). I read this book many years ago, and was so happy to find it on audible. Worth the listen.

Laughed out loud and I needed to!

I chose this book from a review I read. I have a very ill best friend and really felt I needed something to listen to that would make me laugh. I seriously laughed out loud several times and chuckled and smiled a lot. Thank you Rene for giving me a good clean book, filled with faith, laugh out loud funny and especially wonderful characters. You blessed me!

Interesting, but not gripping.

Some of the characters voices sounded whiny and detracted from the story.

Surprised by "BOO"

Reluctantly, I made the decision to listen to "BOO", by Rene Gutteridge. It was well worth the listen. I enjoyed a steady dose of belly laughter. Gutteridge's verbal caricatures of common church beasties served to disarm them of their lethal weapons. "Laughter does good like a medicine", says the proverb, and this story was great medicine. In the mix of humor, we get to see the difference between those whose hearts are humble in Christ and those who are religious enough to make religion their slave. I am looking forward to hearing the next in the series.
