Perfection of both story and narration in one great literary work of dark military science fiction fantasy

A great entry point for new Warhammer 40K fans.

This was a phenomenal listen. As someone relatively new to the world of 40K, this book gave me a great look into the inner workings of the Imperial Guard, one of the factions I initially wrote off but have now fallen in love with.

Loved the world building

I loved the sense of actual human placed in a warhammer 40k universe, unlike the superhuman, no emotion, murder machines that is the astartes.

Entertainment

I'm just getting into 40k and a buddy recommended this title. I agree it is pretty awesome beginning book.

A great intro to Warhammer series

Excellent narration and overall performance. Stong characters both good and bad, and conflicts throughout explained in detail.
