fantastic book that requires your full attention

For context, i usually listen to audiobooks while working and driving so when i started this book I realized i needed to pay more attention to the story because its really well told but frequently jumps to different points in time and tells multiple short stories about the members of the ghosts. It was easy to miss some of the transitions to different stories and could be confusing but it was such a good book that i went back for a second listen to pick up the details that i missed.

Rest of series when

Fantastically done my only complaint being that books 3 through 14 aren't in the audible library yet.

even better

I enjoyed the first book, so when the second turned out to be a series of vignettes giving deeper understanding of the men under Gaunt's command, I was intrigued, and once finished, gratified. I will in all likelihood be buying this in hardcopy as well.

Good 1st and 2nd acts, but ending less so.

Solid 40K book. My only complaint is the ending is abrupt and feels almost contrived.

Action packed collection of short stories!

The sequel to First and Only surrenders a large, overarching plot to instead delve deep into the primary characters of the Taneth 1st Regiment. Abnett flexes his skills as a writer of brutal, engrossing scenes depicting the heroics of soldiers fighting a war that sees them as nothing more than specks of sand against a ride. Still, each take is riveting and gives you a crystal clear look into the hearts of men fighting for the memory of ahome long since burned to ash.

A story of Ghosts

A in depth look at some of the greatest Ghosts of Tanith's First and Only. A gripping story of heroism and drama. I loved it from start to finish and cant wait to hear more of this heroic Scottish Spacefaring Light Infantry Regiment of a lost World.

good

I like Dan Abnett's 40k books. They are good for lore and small stories. But the end of this book feels rushed and a bit downer. Toby does as always a really good narrator job!

Dan and Gaunt.....unstoppable

Starts off at a nice easy pace a and slowly gathers pace to an excitable battle (no shock there) but a nice twist at the end to make the journey highly worthwhile, you won't be disappointed. Toby Longworth at his best.

Almost perfect

Favourite 40K series brilliantly brought to audio, while it mightn’t match my personal interpretation of some characters voices, it’s still brilliantly performed

Sabbath Crusaders to the Rescue

I've read all of this series as books. They introduce some great characters that instantly become lovable and hated appropriately. Dan pays close attention to detail which gives his stories a rich background for you to get lost in. These audio books brings those characters even more to life so that you can match alongside Colm, Rawne, Bragg, Mkoll and of course Ibram in the liberation of the Sabbat Worlds!

One of my favourite Abnett books

Well worth a listen. It has been awhile since I listened to the first Ghost's book so I was somewhat unsure if I would like this one and by feth's sake I bloody loved it. The narration by Toby Longworth was solid throughout, as always. There were so many unique moments in this book that made me not want to stop listening, I would sit in my car an extra 10 minutes finishing the scene/battle utterly enthralled. Get it, try it, love it.
