You are no one. Level zero. Empty of mind and memory. Even your past has been stripped from your brain by the inscrutable System.

A long, difficult road lies between you and remembering any part of who you are. A road punctuated with one death after another. You are too puny to survive by might alone. Information is the single resource that might keep you alive, but the brainless “digis” have none of it. Only those with experience can give you what you need, but most care nothing about you or your plight. In fact, some make it their mission to kill you.

So die you will, again and again, your life counter clicking lower and lower. Even the creators do not know what happens when your counter reaches zero, but many are sure that your last life here is just that. No more respawns.

You are not the first player in the world of STYX, and you will not be the last. You can only hope luck will be on your side. The luckiest players are those who find a vulnerability in the System. Those they call cheaters.

Perhaps cheating is the only way to win.

Enjoy your game.

I went in blind on this one. I assumed from the title that this was a litrpg and was correct. While not a traditional it does have game mechanics in a modern like setting. I didn't know what to expect but what I got was better than I imagined. This story had great character development and interesting world building. Be advised it has some darker tones to it. But I am very interested to see what book two brings to the table.

Edit: Revisited the book after a while and my opinion has completely changed. While I like the later installments, this book is bad. It starts of fairly interesting, but the main character act like a prechooler with the mouth of an adult. He just says everything on his mind and most of it is horrible when it comes to one character.

That being said you could probably skip this book :/

Excellent

Not great but got a little better as it went.
Might, get the next one. But probably won’t.

The main character isn't all sunshine and Daisy's, but he is well on his way to redemption. I'm invested now and want to read more! Unto the next book! 📚

Soo.. someone put a very scathing review out there on this one. Had me about convinced not to go forward with it. Everyone’s taste is different and I was already an hour in so I gave it a shot.

MC wakes up with amnesia in a dorm room. Nothing for him makes sense. You could look at him like a moron or look at it like someone who remembers nothing about there past life and everything going on around him is extremely confusing.

This book takes place over roughly 3 total days.

MC is not a bad character, he is taking the punches as they come, and tries to have some level of humor in it.

Ever been uncomfortable and around someone extremely serious who doesn’t tolerate any level of humor because they know better? This is how I’d describe the MC (Rock) and the girl (Kitty) who teaches him how to survive.

This one was free and I spent the credit on the second one so take it for what it is. Maybe it just kills some time for you or maybe you like it enough to continue to the next.

Loved the story. Loved the Characters. Rock is an idiot and perv to put it lightly. To give an accurate description without spoiling is hard.

Just know this. He learns fast. He works hard for his achievements. And he goes out on his own terms.

Very good story and world building. Had me in tears at the end.

Give this series a chance and remember:
Welcome to the new world novice.
This is a beautiful place full of unforgettable moments both happy and not so happy.
Remember you have a limited number of lives and earning more is not so easy.

Active Quests:
Survive. Search. Learn Secret. Help. Ask CORRECT question.

Good Cast. Compelling Story. Great Action.
