Publisher's summary

Four brave combatants fight for survival in a world where blood sport is taken to the ultimate extreme in this action-packed fantasy series debut.

Once every year, in the city of Sunja, gladiators meet in the arena known as Sunja’s Pit. Some are lured there by the prospect of fortune or fame; others come simply for the thrill of the fight. The games continue for days, until a champion is crowned—or all involved perish.

When it becomes clear that to be a Free Trained pit fighter is to live with a mark on one’s head, four warriors struggle to change their lot, both in and out of the arena. But that’s easier said than done, and not everyone is pleased to learn of their plans. All the while, unseen forces watch the quartet, waiting for the best time to strike—and take everything they have.

Perfect for fans of Gladiator and A Game of Thrones!

Driveway moment

Full disclosure - I did love the movie Gladiator ... and this audiobook made me want to scream like Liz Taylor at the Oscars "Gladiator." The action scenes deliver so much tension that I sat in my car until I knew who'd make it out of the pit - hence giving me that driveway moment. John Lee's performance of the characters is incredible - he takes you there. You love some and hate some. Really a great beginning - can't wait for more.

Action Packed Awesome!

131 Days is all about the arena. Fighter vs fighter, blood and gore, tons of action.

Never been disappointed with this author's books and I've been reading them from the start.

Listen to the sample and enjoy. It starts off with an old fighter going back to the arena for glory. The matches fly by and you'll be attached to the characters hoping they can win against the odds. Who doesn't love an underdog?

Great story!

This is a great example of how books about gladiators should be written! A bit gory at times, but that is pretty expected in a book about gladiators and it didn't feel cheap and gimmicky. can't wait to finish out the series!

seems like it would be boring..... but it isn't

an interesting departure from the usual fantasy books. Not to mention the author is one of my favorite since mountain man. looking forward to getting into the next book in the series. don't let the description put you off. This gets interesting pretty quick. Probably about two chapters in you'll be glad you chose it.

fun read

I have really enjoyed Keith Blackmores mountain man series and wanted to explore some of his other work. I was not disappointed. this was a fun read with clearly defined characters, and tons of action. I have already downloaded the second book and can't wait to start it.
