learned more than when I started

I like the analgies to explain complex subjects and clarifying how statistics in cancer studies can be misleading. The Cochrane Library did not find mamograms to be helpful or evidence based yet why it is still widely promoted? I can only conclude to follow the money.

Dr Fung relies on Darwinian evolutionary theory for some explanations of cancer which I disagree but overall enlightening read on historical research trials and putting them in perspective.

I've read elsewhere that we've all had cancer 4 or 5 times in our life and never known it because our immune system fights it off. Best advice, keep insulin levels low to lower cancer risk low, and maintain normal weight.

worth your time listening to the book

Audio itself is good, the narrator did a good job. The book is packed with a lot of information. Now I need a hard copy because a lot of medical terminology don't translate well just by the audio book. I wish there is a pdf to accompany the audio book on some of the medical terminologies so I can search those on my own.

Dr. Jason Fung is amazing!

I can’t think of enough good thing things to say about Dr. Fung except that his code books should be required reading in every medical school around the country. Book club like reading groups might awaken the next generation of doctors to look beyond the prescription hawking education so immensely influenced by the pharmaceutical corporate culture pervasive in medicine today. It takes DECADES for novel paradigms to break down the wall created by this corporate culture. His books hit that wall like a wrecking ball. Maybe the solution lies in a public revolt against the sick care model of our health system. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Dr. Fung!

Masterpiece.

In my opinion, Dr. Fung is masterful in his presentation, explanation, and exposition. His works are all must listen/reads. It is clear that he wants us the (lay persons) to understand our bodies and the disease that afflicts many of us.

A lot to learn and like about this book.

I had mixed expectations when starting this book as I am aware of some positions he has espoused in other books. However, I was very impressed about the detail and explanations in the book. I am a physician and I am aware of cancer and treat persons with it. I learned a good amount and was exposed to new ideas regarding this. Overall, Dr Fung synthesized cancer and its causes and treatments in a very unique way with a lot to consider and learn and review from his book. I would highly recommend this book for a unique view and understanding of this complex field that is quickly changing and updating all the time. The book and learning here is well worth you time.
