POSSESSION IS A TOXIC GAME

Sweet and gentle. Calm and collected. Nervous and inexperienced. He was death cloaked in the form of a handsome man, and instead of running the other way the first chance she got, she fell for him. Aria Miller is a scientist searching for the cure for a rare genetic disease when her world turns on its head – she collides with Tobias Mitchell. When she takes him on as her assistant, he becomes infatuated with her in ways he knows he shouldn’t be. Then, reality hits, and Aria is forced to leave the country. Faced with the thought of losing the object of his obsession, Tobias’ mask slips, showing her his true self for the first time. Aria is his, and he’ll do anything to make sure she stays that way. This is an interconnected standalone set before The Edge of Darkness Trilogy

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Psychotic Obsession by Leigh Rivers absolutely blew me away. I didn’t expect to fall so hard for Tobias and Aria’s story, but wow—this book had me hooked from the start. It’s dark, emotional, and surprisingly heartfelt in all the right ways. I loved how Leigh tied it back to Edge of Darkness; seeing Aria’s character come full circle really hit me. Back then, she was so young and naïve—just “young and dumb,” as we all are once—but now you can really see her growth and strength. The writing is seamless, the plot twists are wild, and Tobias completely stole my heart. I wasn’t prepared for how well put together this story was or how much I’d feel for these characters. Leigh Rivers outdid herself with this one.

the story could be good and I loved the three before but Aria's voice is terrible. it was okay when she was an older woman and the previous books but now playing somebody in her 20s, her voice is all wrong

FMC narrator voice awful.

Leigh Rivers' "Psychotic Obsession" is undoubtedly one of the darkest, most gripping novels I've read in recent memory. From the first page to the last, the story is a relentless, emotional rollercoaster that refuses to let go. What I found most compelling is that the book transcends its initial presentation as a mere work of dark romance or erotica. While it offers intense, passionate scenes that add depth to the characters' complex relationships, these moments are interwoven with a profound exploration of severe mental illness.

The novel's raw portrayal of mental health struggles is both haunting and enlightening. It drags you into the depths of despair alongside its characters, making their pain and fear palpable. However, amidst the darkness shines Aria, the female protagonist whose empathy and resilience are nothing short of inspiring. Despite enduring her own traumas, Aria's heart remains open and compassionate, serving as a beacon of hope in an otherwise bleak narrative.

Rivers masterfully illustrates the far-reaching impact of mental illness—not just on the individuals afflicted but on the people who love and support them. This is not a fairy tale wrapped up with a neat, happy ending; it's a raw, emotional journey from tragedy to triumph. By the novel's conclusion, you're left deeply affected yet unexpectedly satisfied, having witnessed the transformative power of understanding and unconditional love.

"Psychotic Obsession" is more than just a story; it's an emotional experience that challenges, unsettles, and ultimately moves you. Highly recommended for readers unafraid to explore the darker corners of the human soul.

I absolutely loved this book and think it was a great addition to the Edge Of Darkness Series! I loved being back in that world and learning about how Tobias and Aria came to be with all of their history. I don’t think I’ll ever recover from this series. The audio was top tier and the narrators did a phenomenal job at portraying the characters.

What the did I just read. Only Leigh Rivers would get me to cry for a psychopath. This is definitely not a romance story. The way Leigh writes these characters was absolutely outstanding. It was interesting to see Tobias as a person dealing with mental issues and seeing his down whirl spiral. I felt for Aria. I was right there with her, having feelings for Tobias and understanding why she still had these feelings for him. And god that epilogue!! What a great ending to this heartbreaking story.
The audiobook was unbelievable. JF Harding was incredible as Tobias and Shane East stole my heart as Ewan. And Roxelana Waters was fantastic as Aria. Truly an outstanding audiobook.
