this book was 🔥 and spicy. I loved the whole story and plot. excellent characters and amazing audio performance. it was so good, several times I had to stop multi tasking and just take in a breath. it's a great love story with with passion and heat.

My first introduction to the world created by R. Kent. I thought I would try this series as background noise while tackling Christmas holiday chores, but I quickly found myself stopping those chores to focus on the unfolding events. This story does not ease you in. It pulls you in quickly and powerfully, pun intended, into a world of mafia bosses, dark college clichés, and virgin sacrifices.

Yes, some elements lean into familiar tropes, like the young inexperienced woman, but the cast of characters including Remy, Mia, Jeremy, and others makes the experience worthwhile. The story starts rough, then slowly simmers before reaching a full boil. I plan to continue the series just to stay immersed in this world.

I especially appreciated the inclusion of neurodivergent characters. That said, the narrator drove me a little crazy. I found myself grinding my teeth at every babe and the rough British accent. Push through that, hang on for the ride, and you will not regret it.

If you get past the narrator’s use of “baby” then 4/5

Now that what I’m talking about !!!! And you have JF Harding playing Killian and bending better job in my opinion than Sebastian York and I was not bored at all with the new audio and I was connected with both companies and I love that and the audio bought the whole book back to life and than some . What a turn around and I’m so happy I got to do a rereading and a listening because baby !!! What a great audio and I love the book even more now that the audio is better than ever. Job well done on all the narrators .

Absolutely loved this book. It was raw, real, kinky, and above all stuck with the plot.

I read the book first and when this came out I was excited. This is my first book with JF Harding being a morally gray character so it was interesting to hear Killian being portrayed by a golden retriever voice actor. The story overall is really good and you can see the different character stories unfolding within this book but also see how Killian and Glyndon’s story affects everyone around them as their story develops. For me it wasn’t really that dark but it did have some dark scenes. I cannot wait to move onto the next book!
