My first introduction to the world created by R. Kent. I thought I would try this series as background noise while tackling Christmas holiday chores, but I quickly found myself stopping those chores to focus on the unfolding events. This story does not ease you in. It pulls you in quickly and powerfully, pun intended, into a world of mafia bosses, dark college clichés, and virgin sacrifices.

Yes, some elements lean into familiar tropes, like the young inexperienced woman, but the cast of characters including Remy, Mia, Jeremy, and others makes the experience worthwhile. The story starts rough, then slowly simmers before reaching a full boil. I plan to continue the series just to stay immersed in this world.

I especially appreciated the inclusion of neurodivergent characters. That said, the narrator drove me a little crazy. I found myself grinding my teeth at every babe and the rough British accent. Push through that, hang on for the ride, and you will not regret it.

If you get past the narrator’s use of “baby” then 4/5

this book was 🔥 and spicy. I loved the whole story and plot. excellent characters and amazing audio performance. it was so good, several times I had to stop multi tasking and just take in a breath. it's a great love story with with passion and heat.

I hated Killian for the first part of the book and then again several times the rest of the book….butttt….I also kind of loved him with Glyndon! I’m definitely going to continue the series! The narrators did a great job! Loved that it was duet!

Female character was a bit annoying but I still loved the story. Cillian saved it for me. Plus the narrators voice was 20/10 haha
