Honestly, I found this audiobook on TikTok and I thought it going to be this twisted psychological horror, and it is but I didn’t expect it to be such a beautiful tragic.

This book is undoubtedly the most emotional book I have ever read. The characters are incredibly broken and damaged and this book doesn’t mince words on holding back from truly being the most dark and depraved it could possibly be. The voice actors in this audiobook delivered the most incredible performance I have ever heard and this audiobook will for sure live in my soul. I don’t think you are supposed to feel empathy for Ren but Joe sure delivered those wildly conflicting feelings for me. Corvin took the listener to the depths of despair in this but in the end found a twisted feeling of love and compassion. Mia was absolutely incredible. The sound of her crying for her brother was gut wrenching and I was so very very impressed with this. Thank you for creating such broken beautiful art.

I was casually listening to the audiobook while eating a donut…right up until Ren went into very detailed descriptions of cutting, seasoning, and cooking a piece of human thigh. Donut immediately abandoned. 😂

I usually don’t read trigger warnings, and this didn’t “trigger” me exactly—but I was genuinely shocked by just how much cannibalism is in this book.

The audiobook itself is absolutely top-tier, thanks to Joe and Corvin. Their performances elevate the story in the best (and most disturbing) way.

This book picks up right after Book 1 and continues Ren and Byron’s story. Ren is still a full-blown psychopath—arguably even more so—while Byron is coming to terms with the fact that he’ll never be the person he was before. He’s grappling with Stockholm syndrome and a whole host of other psychological fallout, and it makes for an intense, unsettling continuation.

There is no HEA for Ren and Byron—though, honestly, there was never anything happy between them to begin with.

I don't usually get into this type of book I do like pitch Black but this was beyond darkness emotional struggle between two main characters it was a lot I don't want to give any details because you just have to read it this is book 2 book 1 just as intense but I will say Joe Arden and Corvin King brought this book to life this book was definitely between 2 mmc's total craziness definitely not for the weak stomach the Author's very good 👍
