Outstanding Story & Narration🎧 Riveting & Intense

Rina Kent continues to wow me with another amazing novel set in her “Legacy” world, a series of standalone novels that feature different offspring of characters from earlier series. You do not need to have read or listened to those books to enjoy these because everything you need to know is in the descriptive details. This “opposite attract”, grumpy sunshine romance is Annika Volkov and Creighton King’s story and holy moly what a story it is! Annika is a mafia princess and the only daughter of Adrian and Lia Volkov, she has lived a sheltered life and the only reason she could attend art school at Royal Elite University aka REU was because her brother, Jeremy, who attends The King’s U on the same island has a safe place for her to live and he could look out for her. Creighton is one of Aiden and Elsa King’s son, he and his brother Eli are attending REU together on Brighton Island in the UK, the same school Annika attends. Her brother may be rivals with Creighton and his friends, but that does not stop her interest in him. Creighton is a man of few words, but Annika talks enough for the both of them. There is great chemistry between these two and he tries to fight it, thinking he is too dark for her, but she surprises him with having a dark side of her own. Creighton’s past haunts him and still has nightmares of what happened that one tragic night, his parents never talked about it so he is looking into it himself and what he uncovers blows his mind and throws him into the deep end and he is set out for revenge. I loved the layers to this story and the web Rina Kent wove, especially when it unravels. This brilliantly plotted story contains plenty of drama, angst, some twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, and some steamy hot romance with a side of kink. Rina Kent, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration is performed by a brilliantly talented cast. James Joseph and Mackenzie Cartwright do an amazing job portraying Creighton and Annika. They are joined by Shane East who returns in his role as Aiden King, Jason Clarke returning as Adrian Volkov and Desiree Ketchum as Lia. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. They have a complete understanding of the characters they are portraying, give each a voice that suits their character’s persona perfectly sounding believable in their perspective roles. They set the perfect tone for the story and capture all the character’s emotions and project them in to their performance. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

Dark, intriguing, beautifully performed story!!

God of Pain, an Audiobook by Rina Kent is the dark, engrossing story of Creighton and Annika. She’s a bit of a princess, whose father has future plans for. She disagrees. But, neither of them have considered another possibility…a dark, dangerous, vengeful possibility.

This story will bring shivers down your spine and goosebumps on your flesh. Mesmerizing, captivating…characters you want to embrace….or love to loathe. Absolutely incredible story!!

This Audiobook was beautifully and hauntingly narrated by James Joseph, Mackenzie Cartwright, Shane East, Jason Clark , and Desiree Ketchum. At times their performances are lyrical, menacing, intriguing, touching, and perfect in each situation!

Dark and Seductive

Creigh and Annika were the cutest. I really enjoyed their story and I was completely enthralled. Creighton was more broody than grumpy and he was a total obsessed alpha. Annika was so sweet with a masochistic side, only Creigh got to see. Their story is a bit twisted, dark and seductive. I enjoyed this on audio. The narration was wonderful. Narrated by James Joseph and Mackenzie Cartwright, with cameos by Shane East, Jason Clarke and Desiree Ketchum. James Joseph and Mackenzie Cartwright bring Creighton and Annika to life. I am not sure I would have enjoyed reading this book as much as listening to it. James is a new favorite British voice I am loving and he did wonderful as Creighton, capturing his quiet, broody, dominating and hidden sweet side. Mackenzie as always outdoes herself as Annika. She captured her sweet outgoing side as well as Annika’s secret darkness. I’m excited to find out what happens next.

Another great read from Rina!

I’m seriously loving this series. This book was so addictive and I would have read it all in one sitting if life wasn’t constantly getting in the way. Creighton and Annika were my second favorite people while reading God of Malice. So I was quite excited to read this book. I love literally everything about these two. Annika and Creighton are on two completely different ends of the spectrum and yet they fit together so perfectly. I loved all of their interactions together. They’re so perfect for each other! I seriously don’t wanna say much more about this book because I don’t wanna give anything away. This book seriously had my headphones glued to my head anytime I had the chance to read it. Every second of this book was packed with a punch, and left me breathless at some points. I am absolutely invested in the series and can’t wait for the next book to come out! I really need to go back and read this authors entire back list.

Also, since I did listen to this book on audio, I should probably mention that the narrators for this book did an absolute phenomenal job!

I've been wanting to experience this story again and i've been so excited for this audiobook! It immediately became an anticipated listen of mine. I started listening to it as soon as i could and got right back into the Legacy of Gods world! I loved this listen!

When i found out God of Pain was going to be narrated by James Joseph, Mackenzie Cartwright, Shane East, Jason Clarke, & Desiree Ketchum i was so ecstatic! I've listened to all but James Joseph before so i was super excited to get into this listen! Omg! These narrators knocked it out of the park! I loved what every single person brought to this story and the way they kept me glued to my earbuds. From Creighton and Annika to everyone else, these narrators did such a wonderful job of bringing these characters and this story to life in this new way.

Annika and Creighton's journey once again hooked me and didn't let go! Sometimes people get under your skin in ways you don't expect, Annika and Creighton know that all too well.

From how relatable Annika was to how there was more than meets the eye with Creighton, i couldn't get enough of these two and their story once again! I felt so dang much with them from the start of this listen to the very end! This grumpy/sunshine couple will keep you glued to your earbuds!

It made me so happy to be back in the Legacy of Gods world!

With God of Pain, Ms.Kent has created such a great and dark journey that was all kinds of addictiveness for me! If you haven't read this author's work, change that. I'm getting so into the Legacy of Gods world and i can't wait for more! Super excited for the third installment, God of Wrath! 💜
